REMEMBER: Sleep is the only cure for tiredness.

Consequences of driving tired

  • From 2004 to 2010, almost one in seven fatalities were as a result of fatigue related crashes within Western Australia.

The two main causes of fatigue are lack of quality sleep and driving at times when you would normally be asleep.

By not getting enough sleep you will build up a sleep debt.

    What is sleep debt?

If you don't get enough sleep you go into debt and you 'owe' yourself more sleep and the only way to repay this debt is by sleeping.

Until you catch up on your sleep you have a greater risk of having a fatigue related crash.
