1.0 Barricading Inspection Criteria

  • 1.1 If an area is an Exclusion Zone: <br>- Does the exclusion control information tag clearly identify the hazard, risk and person who completed the tag? <br>- Can the person on the tag be contacted?<br>- Does the exclusion zone barricading conform to JHG-2A-40-8B requirements?

  • 1.2 Is the barricading type consistent with the JHG-2A-40-8A Barricading & Signage Selection and Installation Guidance Matrix for the type of hazard involved?

  • 1.3 Is the signage type consistent with the JHG-2A-40-8A Barricading & Signage Selection and Installation Guidance Matrix for the type of hazard involved? Is it clean and clearly visible?

  • 1.4 Is the barricading installation adequate to prevent unauthorised access for the type of hazards involved? Check for quality of implementation and effectiveness of barricading?

  • 1.5 Are access points located in the barricaded area and clearly identified?

  • 1.6 Are the barricading and signage materials in good condition?

  • 1.7 Are flashing lights and hi-vis flagging/tape in place for barricading around excavations or penetrations where night works might be exposed to the hazards?

  • 1.8 Are authorised workers within the barricading area signed into a Task Risk Assessment?

  • 1.9 Does the TRA highlight the barricading requirements as a control measure within the TRA?

  • 1.10 Is the barricade of sufficient size for the work being performed?
