1. Personal Safety

  • 1.1 Are safety shoes provided for Staff and worn? (E.g. Non-slip shoes/steel toes cap)

2. Emergency Preparedness

3. Electrical Safety

  • 3.1 The electrical tool is not defective?

  • 3.2 The electrical plugs are in good condition?

  • 3.3 The electrical cords are clear of any damage or worn-out insulation?

  • 3.4 The electrical cords are not running around sharp edges?

  • 3.5 The socket outlets are not overloaded with multiple adapter plugs connected to electrical appliances?

  • 3.6 There is no daisy chain connection for the extension plug?

  • 3.7 Electrical panels and switchboards are free of obstruction?

  • 3.8 Adequate covers are provided for Electrical installations/switchboards/switches to prevent any exposed cables that would increase the risk of electrical shock or fire?

4. Equipment & Tools

  • 4.1 Adequate guarding is provided for equipment and not removed? (E.g. Food Preparation Mixer, Rice Mixer, Meat Mincer, Dough Maker, Blender, Rice Mixer, Shawarma Rotisserie Machine, etc.)

  • 4.2 Is the kitchen equipment in working condition?

  • 4.3 Warning signages are displayed for defective equipment?

5. Fire Emergency Equipment

  • 5.1 Fire Extinguisher is clear of obstruction, properly hung on the bracket, properly maintained with a valid date of servicing and certification body's label?

  • 5.2 Fire Hose Reel is clear of obstruction, the nozzle & inlet valves are in good condition, the "FIRE HOSE REEL" signage is clearly labelled, with no leakage and the Fire Hose Reel cabinet is not used as storage

  • 5.3 Fire Blanket is clear of obstruction, easily accessible, properly hung on the bracket/stored in a prominent location?

  • 5.4 Staff is aware of the location for the emergency equipment? (Eg. Fire Blanket, Fire Extinguisher, Wet Suppression System, Manual Pull Station, Call Points, etc.)

  • 5.5 Manual Call Points & Manual Pull Station is clear of obstruction?

  • 5.6 Is the Gas Main Control valve avaiable and not obstructed?

  • 5.7 Is the Gas Detection Control Panel available?

6. Fire Safety

  • 6.1 Combustible items are stored away from any ignition source?

  • 6.2 There is no unattended cooking?

  • 6.3 Aerosol cans is kept clear of ignition and heat sources? (E.g. Ovens, Range Hoods, Naked flames, Direct Sunlight, etc.)

  • 6.4 Cleaning of Kitchen Exhaust Hood and Filters is conducted on a regular basis by staff to reduce the risks of fire?

  • 6.5 There is deep cleaning of Kitchen Exhaust Hood by 3rd Party Contractor?

  • 6.6 The LPG cylinders are stored in an up-right position and secured?

7. Slips, Trips & Falls

  • 7.1 Is the floor dry and free of oil residues?

  • 7.2 Is the floor free of damages/broken/chipped tiles?

  • 7.3 Is the floor free of any obstruction that may cause any trip or fall hazard?

  • 7.4 There are no loose floor trap coverings that may cause any trip or fall hazard?

  • 7.5 There are no dangling wires/cables that may cause any trip or fall hazard?

8. Knife Handling

  • 8.1 Are the cut-resistant and blue gloves worn when handling knives?

9. Working-At-Height

  • 9.1 Is the step ladder/stool in good condition, free of any cracks or damages?

  • 9.2 Steps are free of grease, oil, or any other substance that would make it slippery?

  • 9.3 Step ladder/stool's fitting are not loose and securely attached?

10. Material Storage

  • 10.1 Materials stored above shoulder level are not more than 5kg?

  • 10.3 The materials stored at each tier are spread evenly?

11. Workplace Illumination

  • 11.1 Lighting provided is sufficient and in working condition? (E.g. Not damaged, without glare, poorly distributed light, flickering, etc.)

  • 11.2 The Kitchen Exhaust Hood light bulb is in working condition? (E.g. Not damaged, without glare, poorly distributed light, flickering, etc.)
