Additional procedure monitoring

  • WEIGHT LOSS<br>Has weight loss on mice that have had more than 15% weight loss been checked and noted ( compared to their age/sex matched controls)

  • If more then 15% weight loss has been noted has an incident report been completed

  • TUMOUR STUDIES<br>Is tumour growth being checked and noted as per protocol

CAGE CARDS

  • Is the protocol and group name recorded ?

  • Has new stickers been produced after a procedure has been recorded ?

  • All cages have cage cards.

MICE

Housing - Does the cage contain adequate amounts of the following ?

  • Water

  • Food

  • Nesting

  • Environmental enrichment

Mice in cage

  • Do the number of mice in cage add up to the number of mice on cage card ?

  • Are there any mice over the allowed age in protocol ( most protocols state maximum age of 52weeks )

Illnesses

  • Are there any cages that have been flagged with a sick mouse green flag ?

  • If yes does the flagging card have all the correct information, including reason for being flagged, date flagged and name/initial of Pearson whom flagged the cage ?

  • Has this mouse then been recorded on database as sick and all additional information filled in ?

  • Is the proposed treatment/ monitoring adequate ?

  • Is the treatment/monitoring been performed correct and up to date ?
