Yard Inspection

Yard area

  • Have all drivers been authorised to access site

  • Is the kerosene tank in good condition and the bund free from damage

  • Are all smoke areas free from litter and the bins not overflowing

  • Are grit bins stocked with grit and free from damage

  • Are the recycling areas clean, clear and the materials segregated in to relevant waste streams

  • Are loading bays 1 - 4 clean and clear of debris

  • Are loading bays 1- 4 compliant with the relevant checks

  • Are all HGV vehicles parked in the correct areas and no signs of congestion

  • Are all employee and visitors cars reversed parked

  • Is the LPG storage tank in good condition, no signs of damage or wear and tear on the pipework

  • Check the chemical cage is locked and the drums are stored correctly with suitable signage in place

  • Monitor any banksmen in operation, observe they are following the correct training

  • Are the pallets in the pallet storage area stacked to the agreed height 20 maximum for blue Chep pallets

  • Are the white pallets stored in the area correctly stored and at a maximum of 10 high

  • Are loading bays 5 - 11 clean and clear of debris

  • Are loading bays 5- 11 compliant with the relevant checks

  • Are any internal deliveries of product removed correctly following the SOP and training

  • Have chocks been applied to the relevant vehicles when unloading is taking place

  • Is the yard area operating in a safe manor with hazards kept to a minimum select the likelihood of injury based on the observations of the inspection

Extension AFG

  • Check the pathways are suitable for walking on

  • Check the fire doors are not blocked and the stones on the pathway are not obstructing the doors from opening

  • Check the fire door lights for the emergency exit are not showing red (visible in the corner)

  • Check the are is clean and free from litter and other debris

  • Check the fence line is intact and no loose panels

  • Check the cars are reversed parked in the correct bays

  • Check the emergency gate is working and there are no issues

  • Check the drop down barriers are working and in good condition

  • If able check the perimeter lights are working and there are no lights out

Sign off

  • Have any areas raised concerns

  • Rate the overall risk rating of the extension

  • Sign as complete
