Airbridge arrival checks

  • Does the Airbridge Operator check the serviceability of the airbridge?<br>Is the Airbridge free of FOD?

  • Does the operator check that the bridges are parked correctly?

  • Does the operator perform a FOD check to the stand area?

  • Has the operator ensured a safe route for disembarking passengers? Has the Airbridge operator utilised any provided Tensator barriers to the bridgehead, to prevent unauthorised access to the bridge operating area?

  • On completion to the aircraft docking onto stand! Does the operator wait for Anti-Collision lights to be turned off, and the aircraft chocked before moving the bridge?

  • Does the operator where dual Airbridges are in use, do they operate the correct placement procedure for the appropriate Airbridge?

  • Does the operator approach the aircraft at a suitable speed and make any adjustments prior to docking?

  • Does the operator check for any damage around the fuselage area?

  • Has the bridge been positioned as per the requirements to the Airline?<br>Has the Autolevel been set?<br>Has a safe correct step height been maintained for the aircraft type?

  • Has the operator given the signal to the cabin crew that it is safe to open the aircraft door?<br>(Knocked on the door/or given the thumbs up signal)<br>Has the operator ensured that when the door is fully open it doesn't foul up against the Airbridge or flooring?

  • Has the operator positioned any secondary Airbridge safety devices where applicable?

Airbridge removal

  • Does the operator ensure that the aircraft cabin door is closed before switching the airbridge to operate mode?

  • Are secondary safety devices stowed correctly, are the barriers put in place airbridge doors closed, and a final visual check to ensure no GSE in the airbridge manoeuvring area?

  • Where dual airbridges are in place are they removed in the correct sequence?

  • Are the airbridges parked & positioned in the parking circle, with the AVDGS confirmation light engaged?<br>Are the bridges lowered to a suitable parking height?<br>Is the airbridge drive axles aligned with & to the recommended position?<br>Is the bridgehead straightened in-line with the parking taxi line?

  • Are the controls logged out or turned off to prevent any unauthorised usage?<br>Is the airbridge left secured?<br>Is the airbridge free of FOD?
