Specific site induction

Introduction

  • • “All workers should review the Construction Management Plan (CMP) which outlines all safety measures and site specific instructions. A copy will be kept in the Safety file in the Site Office.”
    •“All workers must comply with the CMP and any direction given by the Site Supervisor relating to safety.
    •“Non-compliance will mean immediate ejection from site. BBS have zero tolerance for unsafe work practices.”
    •“All personnel must sit this induction before entering site.”

Parking

  • Please provide clear instruction of contractor parking requirements

Specific Site Rules

  • •“Working hours are between 7am and 6pm Mon-Fri. Please ensure the Site Supervisor is given at least 4hrs advance warning of noisy works at any time.”
    •“All personnel must review Site Rules in Construction Management Plan in detail.”
    •“No smoking on site. Be mindful the gallery is still in use.”
    •“No foul language. Be mindful the gallery is still in use.”
    •“This site in it’s entirety is heritage listed. Please be mindful of this when carrying our work. Notify the Site Supervisor if there is risk of damaging existing buildings or landscaping.”
    •“Parking is not permitted in the public car-park. Free parking is available on neighbouring roads as listed in the CMP.”

Amenities

  • •The public disabled toilet will be used as a site toilet for the duration of works. This is immediately adjacent the work site. The male and female public toilets however are off limit.
    •Please notify the Supervisor if the toilet is running low provisions

Emergency procedures

  • •“The emergency procedure and contact numbers will be displayed on the notice board at the site office.”
    •“When a fire or other emergency occurs, these procedures must be followed.”
    •“Evacuation Point is located near the Front Gate on River Road”
    •“If you hear the horn go off 3 times, proceed to the assembly point.”

First Aid

  • •“The First Aid Box will be located at the site office”

Site Start SWMS

  • •“All Sub-Contractors must complete SWMS prior to starting works to be reviewed and approved by the Supervisor”
    •“All Sub-Contractors shall conduct a toolbox talk with the Supervisor present prior to works starting where all workers shall read and Sign Off their respective SWMS before they commence”
    •“Sub-Contractors must work in accordance SWMS during the Project and if works change throughout the Project, the SWMS is required to be amended to reflect the changes and approved by the Supervisor”
    •“WorkSafe Codes of Practices are available online ans will can be accessed from the Site Office for review as required

Hazardous Materials

  • •“All inductees are to familiarise themselves with the asbestos management plan and register”
    •“All inductees are to notify the Supervisor if a asbestos containing material (ACM) is identified during the course of work”
    •“All personnel are to notify the Site Supervisor when bringing hazardous substances (Chemicals/gasses/liquids/etc..) on site”
    •“An MSDS/SDS is to be provided to the Site Supervisor prior to use”
    •“No hazardous substances may be allowed to be stored on site, all contractors must take any hazardous substances they have brought onto site with them, off site at the end of each shift.

Environmental Management

  • •“All inductees are to familiarise themselves with the EMP and measures implemented”
    •“Please do not tamper with erosion and sediment control measures, if these need to be moved, notify the Site Supervisor”
    • “Dispose of food scraps in the allocated bin, not in the skip bin or anywhere else”
    • “Dust suppression measures must be implemented when carrying out demolition, drilling, chasing concrete or concrete cutting.
    • “Cover sand piles and other aggregate when not in use or if wind picks up”
    • “Wheelbarrows, mixers, shovels and other equipment must only be washed out in the designated wash area”
    • “A skip bin will be provided for mixed waste throughout the project however fibro must be disposed of separately at a licensed facility.”
