Bricklayer Completion Inspection

Have the correct bricks been delivered?

Has the Bricklayer loaded the job from random packs to ensure proper blending?

Has the correct joint finish been applied?

Flush jointing to Rendered areas? (No bulging past face of brick)

Has the back of parapet walls been finished to a uniform finish?

Are the correct brick ties in accordance with salt attack requirements? (Coastal)

Are brick ties being installed every 5th course, every stud & every 3rd course next to window/door openings & long runs?

Are brick ties installed to within 300mm of expansion joints?

Are all flashings in place below bottom plate & above all windows, doors and roof areas (e.g garage) with more than 3 courses of brickwork above?

Has alcor flashing been cut into reveals of all sliding doors?

Have adequate flashing been installed to balconies and parapet walls?

Are weep holes clear of mortar & installed every 5th brick? (1.2m centre max.)

Has the bricklayer left the window sill rubber in correct position?

Is there 10mm clearance between window and brick sills to top floor and 5mm to ground floor?

Are the cavity and brick ties being kept clear of mortar dags?

Are perps and bed joints uniform and within tolerances?

Are the perp and bed joints full of mortar to the face of rear brick?

Does brickwork conform with acceptable tolerances for line , level and plumb. Generally +/-5mm over 3 m?

Have steel lintels been installed correctly? (Note: end bearing and have temp.props to prevent sagging.) Mimimal clearance above windows 2mm-5mm?

Has brickwork been constructed in accordance with drawings?

Have windows & fence panels been hosed down daily?

Has the scaffold been left in tact and in a safe state?

Ensure site is left in a neat condition and rubbish placed in accessible piles away from entry and walkways, services, toilet and power supply?

Is the rubbish and discarded bricks been left in sorted neat piles

Check for footpath damage.
