Description of Location

Safety/Housekeeping

  • Scrap material picked up

Materials

  • All inaccessible control wiring shall be run in rigid conduit with grey fittings

  • Wiring exposed to view shall be in rigid conduit or EMT

  • Wiring in accessible locations shall be plenum rated cable

  • Bridal rings shall be used in ceiling plenums

  • All conduit is larger than 1/2"

  • Insulated T-Stats at exterior walls

  • Rough in boxes in lieu of mud in

Installation

  • Sound and fire caulking in place

  • All wiring shall be supported adequately and routed neatly parallel/perpendicular to building grid lines

  • All open ends of conduit are capped with tape or plugs

  • Verify all conduits entering a j-box, electrical panel or pull box have insulated bushings

  • Conduit and cable tray has no visible damage (crimpings, improper bends, etc)

  • All j-boxes are closed

  • Unused KO's in J-boxes are plugged

  • Verify that control wiring is not in the same conduit as power wiring

  • Boxes should not be installed back to back. Provide no less than 12" of separation

  • Sensors and T-stats should be aligned to align horizontally with light switches at 48"(Exception at Retail)

  • Device shall align vertically if installed in same stud space as another device

Identification

  • Label conduits at all underground stub ups with where the conduit is routed to

  • Verify colored conduit fittings used as follows:<br>Black-normal<br>Blue-standby<br>Orange-mechanical<br>Yellow-life safety<br>Green-grounding<br>Red-fire alarm<br>White-security<br>No paint-comm<br>Grey-Mechanical Controls

  • Exposed devices shall be identified with engraved labels on the body of the device. Do not put identification on removable covers.

Low Voltage Raceways

  • Verify that all raceways installed for low voltage cabling have pull strings installed. Leave no less than 12" of slack at each end.

  • Verify bushings are installed on the ends of all raceways installed for low voltage cabling

  • Contractor drawings are current set with applicable changes posted
