Carparks

Is the car park bitumen or concrete (floor) clean? Examine the bitumen and concrete the area the size of 20 bays/car spaces. Note: Select an undercover car park, if there is no undercover car park assess the outdoor car park. This does not include public centre entry doors but may include emergency exit doors (not retailer doors) exiting into the car park. Is the Valet suite clean and well presented? Inspect the condition of the Valet suite Answer YES if: a) Desk clean and tidy & well presented b) Free from cobwebs, dead insects, dust or dirt build up

Entrances

Is the footpath and/or stairs, bollards and lights at the centre entrance clean? Inspect 2 centre entrances and assess footpath, stairs, bollards and lights. Answer YES if: the entrance footpath and/or stairs extending 8m from the centre entrance door: a) If there are 3 or less pieces of litter b) Is free of a significant build up of chewing gum (more than 3 pieces per sqm) c) Is free from more than 1 spill or stain greater than 10cm x 10cm d) Is free from a significant visible build-up of dirt or dust e) Corners are free from a visible build-up of dirt or grime; and f) Bollards are free from smears, spills or dirt marks greater than 5cm in length and free of graffiti PLUS g) Lights free from dust, dirt or grime build-up (build-up is considered greater than 1mm) h) Lights free from cobwebs or dead insects I) Free from a build up of cigarette butts (more than 5) j) Surrounding garden beds or pot plants have 3 or less pieces of litter
Is the entry door, wall and glass clean? Please inspect 2 centre entrances and assess entry walls, doors, door handles, door hinges, door frames and glass. Answer YES if: the wall, door, frames, handles, hinges and glass are: a) Free from streaks, smears or marks longer than 5cm b) Free from more than 2 hand prints c) Free from a visible build-up of dust or grime covering more than 10% of the fitting, door, wall or glass d) Free from graffiti e) Free from visible past cleaning attempts f) Free of cobwebs
Are the rubbish bins clean? Inspect 2 centre entrances and assess bins at each entrance audited. Answer YES if: a) Bins are not overflowing b) The outside of bin is not stained or marked with more than 2 dirty marks greater than 5cm on the base, sides or top c) There are no more than 10 cigarette butts on the bin lid (outside bins only) d) The bins have a bin liner in place e) There is no offensive odour emanating from the bin f) The bin does not have visible dust or grime build up on the base, sides or top Mark NA if there is no bin at the entrance.
Were the Automatic Payment Machines clean? Inspect the closest APM machine. Assess external surfaces of APM. This is only for the car park to centre entrance inside the centre. Answer YES if all pay machines are: a) Have 2 or less smears, splashes or stains larger than 5cm d) Free from cobwebs, dead insects and visible dust or dirt build up a) Free from scale, mould or mildew b) Free from cleaning product build up Answer NA if the car park you assessed does not have an Automatic Payment machine.
Is the entry mat clean? Inspect 2 centre entrances and assess entry mat. Answer YES if the entry mat (internal and external if mat is on either side of door): a) There is no litter on mat b) Does not have a visible build up of dust or dirt (looks like it needs a vacuum) c) Has less 2 or less deep rooted chewing gum spots

General Mall

Are the floors and carpet areas clean? Inspect the cleanliness of the floor (floor area the length of 20 stores). Answer YES if there are 3 or less of the following: a) Litter b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc) c) Dry spills (fries, lollies etc) d) Dust/fluff balls greater than 1 cm x 1cm e) Stains on carpet f) Scuff marks on floors greater than 10cm g) Tiles polished to a high lustre PLUS h) The mall skirting boards are free of dust or grime build-up (excluding retailers)
Are the balustrades clean? Inspect the balustrades on the level you are on, including glass, metal/wrought iron, timber and combination balustrades. Answer YES if: All balustrades observed were free from: a) Scale, mould or mildew b) Cleaning product build up c) Smears, splashes or stains larger than 5cm d) More than 2 handprint per panel e) Cobwebs, dead insects, dust or dirt build up f) Visible dust build-up on ledges Answer NA if the centre has no balustrades in that level of the general mall.
Are the ceiling, wall lights and air conditioning registers clean? Examine all lights and air conditioning registers (floor area the length of 20 stores). Answer YES if lights were: a) Free from dust, dirt or grime build up greater than 1mm b) Free from cobwebs or dead insects
Are directional signage, advertising signage, directory boards, payphones and ATM's clean? Inspect the following; - Directional signage (including free standing store directions and electronic signage - Advertising signage - Directory boards - ATM's and - Payphones Answer YES if all directional and advertising signage, directory boards, ATM's and payphones are free from: a) Scale, mould or mildew b) Cleaning product build up c) Smears, splashes or stains larger than 5cm d) Cobwebs, dead insects, dust or dirt build up

Are all lifts, escalators and travelators clean? Examine at a minimum once of each of the following; - Lifts (Note: This does not include service lifts) - Escalators and - Travelators Answer YES if: all lifts, escalators and travelators observed were clean and meet the standard below . a) All tracks/steps are free from a build-up of dirt, dust or spills. A build up is considered dust or grime that is highly visible, i.e. not a light covering. b) All handrails/safety rails are free from sticky substances or dust c) Escalators, travelators, lift floors and walls are free from rubbish or dirt d) Lift floors and walls are free from dirt e) Glass is free from more than 2 handprints or smears greater than 10 cm and is visibly clear f) Side panels (e.g. stainless steel) are free from more than 2 smears greater that 5cm with no visible dust build-up g) Floor plates top and bottom of the escalators and travelators are free of a build-up of grime, dust and dirt h) Door tracks are free from a build-up of dirt, dust and grime
Are coffee tables and seats within the general mall seating areas clean and well presented? Inspect customer mall furniture . This includes seating pods or individual tables and chairs but excludes retailer furniture. Answer YES if each seating area has no more than 1 of the following (in total): a) Papers, wrappers , plastic / paper bags, drink bottles or cups b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc) c) Dry spills (fries, gum, lollies etc) d) Visible dust or dirt build up in corners or seams; PLUS e) The carpeted area at seating areas is free of dust, fluff balls, dirt build up and does not look like carpet area needs vacuuming f) Furniture is well presented i.e. furniture is placed neatly and proportionately in the specified area, e.g. on a rug.
Is the play world / playtown clean and free from rubbish? Please examine the Play world in the assessment zone. Answer YES if: the Play world you visited is free from the following: a) More than 2 pieces of litter such as papers, plastic bags, paper bags, drink bottles or cups, wrappers or any other form of rubbish b) Liquid spills (drinks, water, etc) c) Dry spills (food scraps, crumbs, sultanas, crackers, etc) d) Dust, grime or dirt build up on the play surfaces and in corners and/or between vinyl netting e) Handprints and build up of dirt and smears on doors, panels and signage
Is the concierge desk clean? Inspect a Concierge Desk. Answer YES if; the Concierge Desk is: a) Free of visible build up of dust and dirt b) Free from more than 2 smear greater than 5cm c) Free from graffiti or vandalism d) Well polished
Were the kiddie carts, mobile shoppers and other equipment clean and well presented? Examine the mobility equipment located at the Concierge Desk. Answer YES if: Each piece of equipment is: a) Free from more than 2 marks or smears greater than 5 cm b) Free from crumbs or rubbish in the basket c) Free from a visible build-up of dust.

Restrooms

Are the ceiling, ceiling vents and lights clean? Inspect the ceiling, ceiling vents, lights and pipes in the restroom. Ceiling vents include extractor fans and air conditioning vents. Answer YES if: all ceiling surfaces, vents, pipes and lights are free from: a) Build up of dirt or grime in corners b) Cobwebs, dead insects or hair balls c) Visible dust build-up covering more than 10% of each item (ceiling, vents or lights) and more than 1mm thick d) Scuffs or smears longer than 5cm e) Discolouration or stains measuring more than 5cm in diameter f) Cleaning product build up

Are the bins clean, have capacity for more rubbish and lined with the correct bin liner? Inspect rubbish bins in the restroom. Answer YES if: rubbish bins were: a) Free from visible dust, grime, dirt, spills or smears b) Free from discolouration or graffiti c) Free from unpleasant odour; and d) Bin liner in place, secured to the bin and fits the size of the bin.
Are the rest room toilet bowls, toilet seats, urinals and wall tiles under urinals clean? Check all unattended cubicles in the restroom. Answer YES if: all unattended toilet bowls, seats & urinals are free from: a) A build-up of stains, residue or debris b) A build up of uric acid greater than 4cm on tiles or fittings c) Build up of dust
Are toilet paper, soap and hand towel dispensers in the restroom clean and well stocked? Check all toilet paper, soap and paper hand towel dispensers in the restroom (check unattended cubicles and soap dispensers). Answer YES if: all toilet paper, soap and paper hand towel dispensers are: a) Free from smears greater than 5cm long b) Free from visible build-up of dust; c) Well stocked: - At least a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper available in each cubicle - Hand soap available in each dispenser - Paper towels available in at least 50% of dispensers (where hand towel dispensers are provided)

Is the play area tidy and free from rubbish? Inspect the children's play area Answer YES if: the children's play area was clean & tidy, including: a) No more than 3 pieces of paper or rubbish on the floor of the play area b) Children's amusement devices free from smears, marks and dirt build up c) Glass fencing free from no more than 2 handprints or 2 smears
Does the parents room have a pleasant odour? Answer YES if: upon entry to the parents room: a) There is no unpleasant or offensive odour lingering throughout the entire parents room

Food Court

Are the windows and glass panels clean? Inspect the windows and glass panels. Answer YES if: The glass is free from; a) More than 3 streaks, smears or marks longer than 5cm b) More than 2 hand prints per 5m length c) Visible build-up of dust or grime d) Graffiti e) Visible past cleaning attempts Answer NA if there are no windows or glass panels.
Were tables cleared and ready for use within 5 minutes of being vacated and was the cleaner using a Green coloured cloth to wipe table surfaces? Answer YES if: After 5 minutes vacant tables were free from: a) Visible dirt, dust or sticky/greasy substances b) Food scraps, crumbs, smears or gum c) Trays, papers, plastic bags or general rubbish d) Graffiti e) Wet areas (from spills or just being wiped with a wet cloth) f) AND cleaner (if sited) used a green cloth to wipe table surfaces
Is the food court floor clean? Inspect the food court floor. Answer YES if: There are 5 or more of the following: a) Papers, wrappers or plastic bags and any other form of rubbish b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc) c) Dry spills (fries, lollies etc) d) Food scraps; PLUS e) Skirting boards are free of scuff marks f) Skirting boards are free of dust or grime build-up g) Floor is free of scuff marks great than 15cm in length. Answer Yes if non compliant items were removed within 5 minutes.
Were the plants/pot plants within the Food Court clean? Examine the plants and pot plants in the general Food Court area. Answer YES if: Plants and pot plants in the Food Court are free from all of the following: a) Papers, receipts or wrappers b) Gum or cigarette butts c) Food scraps, bottles or other litter d) Pots are free from smears greater than 5cm and dust deeper than 1mm Answer NA if: the Food Court has no plants or pot plants.
Are un-attended tables, bases, chairs, legs and high chairs in the food court clean? Examine a maximum of 10 tables and accompanying chairs & 2 high chairs in the food court which are unattended. If there are less than 10 unattended tables/chairs and less than 2 unattended high chairs then assess what is available. Answer YES if: Tables & chairs examined are free from: a) A build-up of dirt or grime (greater than 1mm) b) Scale, mould or mildew c) Cleaning product build up d) Smears or dirty marks and e) Under tables are free from less than 3 pieces of gum f) Between seat upholstery free of a build-up of crumbs, wraps or litter
Are the recycling stations and cleaners stations clean and well presented? Inspect two recycling stations and one cleaners station. Inspect inside and around the stations. Answer YES if: all refuse stations and cleaners stations in the food court are free from: a) Build-up of dirt or grime b) Cleaning product build up c) Smears, splashes or stains d) Cobwebs, dead insects, dust or dirt build up e) Food scraps, sticky residue or fatty deposits and f) 5 crockery items and 10 trays
Are the rubbish bins clean well presented? These are rubbish bins that are not recycling stations. Examine 4 bins (or if less than 4, examine all bins available). Answer YES if: a) Bins were not overflowing b) The outside of bin is not stained or marked with more than 2 dirty marks greater than 5cm on the base, sides or top c) The bins have a bin liner in place d) There is no offensive odour emanating from the bins e) The bin does not have visible dust or grime on the base, sides or top Note: If there are no stand alone bins, then mark as NA.
Are food court lights in the general area clean? Examine 30 non-retailer lights in the food court general area. Answer YES if: 27 or more lights were: a) Free from dust, dirt or grime build up. Build up is considered greater than 1mm. b) Free from cobwebs or dead insects

Perimeter

Are the external walls, doors and door frames clean? Inspect a section of the external building that contains a wall and door. This does not include public centre entry doors or the car park but may include emergency exit doors spilling to the buildings perimeter (not retailer doors). Answer YES if: The wall and door assessed is free from: a) Build up of scale, mould or mildew b) Build-up of dust, dirt, smears or hand prints c) Discolouration or stains d) Graffiti e) Cobwebs, dead insects or bird droppings
Are the lights clean? Please examine lights in the area being audited. Typically these will be lights secured to the outside of the building. Answer YES if: a)10% of the light fitting is free from cobwebs or dead insects
Are external garden beds, planters clean ? Inspect Westfield garden beds, planters and pot plants. This includes fixed pot plants, large planters and garden beds but does not include nature strips or council property. Answer YES if: Garden bed, planter or pot is free from more than 3 of the following items: a) Papers, receipts or wrappers b) Gum or cigarette butts (5 cigarette butts = 1 piece of litter) c) Food scraps, bottles or other litter Answer NA and assign full points if there are no gardens or plants in the section of perimeter you have assessed.
Was the exit to the Car Park clean and well presented? Inspect the entrance to the car park area (street section). The entry is the foot path area to the entrance of the Westfield car park. Answer YES if: There are no more than 3 of the following: a) Papers or plastic bags b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc) c) Dry spills (fries, lollies etc) d) More than 3 cigarette butts e) Any other form of rubbish AND f) There is not significant build up of dirt greater than 20cm x 20 cm

BOH

Is the loading dock clean and well presented? Please examine at least one loading dock. Answer YES if: a) The dock floor is free of a build-up of in-ground grease and dirt b) The dock is free of more than 3 pieces of litter c) 80% of wall surfaces are free from smears, splashes, grease, food stuffs, grime or dirt d) 90% of signage is free from smears, splashes, grease, food stuffs, grime or dirt e) 90% of door surfaces are free from smears, splashes, grease, food stuffs, grime or dirt f) More than 1/2 of the dock is free from a strong offensive odour g) There are less than 2 visible cobwebs.
Are bins, compactors, traps, drains and equipment on the dock clean? Please inspect waste management equipment on the dock. Answer YES if: 70% of compactors, bins, traps, drains and equipment is a) Free of a build-up of in-ground grease and dirt AND; b) The drains flow freely c) Used cooking oil tanks are free of a build-up of oil on the top and sides.
Are corridor passageways and service doors clean? Please inspect at least two passageways. Answer YES if: a) There is no build-up of dust, grime or dirt on the floor b) There is no build-up of dust, marks or grime on the walls c) There is no more than 2 instances of graffiti d) More than 90% of light fittings are free from a build-up of dead insects e) More than 90% of the ceiling is free from splatters, grime, dust or marks f) More than 90% of each emergency exit and service doors are free from a build-up of dust, marks or grime and customer facing stainless steel plates are polished where installed.
Are the emergency exit stairwells clean? Please inspect fire escapes and stairwells. Are the good lifts clean? Please examine at least one goods lift. Answer YES if: the goods lift was clean and meets the following standard. a) Lift floors are free from more than 2 pieces of rubbish greater than 10cm x 10cm b) Lift walls are free from more then 4 marks and smears greater than 5cm in length c) Lift door tracks are free from a build-up of dirt, dust or grime d) Lift floors free of grease or oil e) Lights are free from a build-up of dirt, grime or insects f) Vents are free from a build-up of dirt, dust or grime greater than 1mm thick.
Are staff toilets clean? Please examine at least one staff toilet. Answer YES if: a) Toilet bowls and seats are free from a build-up of waste or grime (i.e. more than 1 day use) b) Floors are free from a build-up of dirt, dust or grime (including corners and skirting boards) c) More then 90% of the wall surface is free from a build-up of smears, marks or grime d) More than 90% of the ceiling is free from splatters, grim, dust or marks e) Taps, basins, pipes and bench tops are free from a build-up of scale, mould, dirt, grime or water f) Mirrors are free of more than 1 smear or streak greater than 5cm in length g) Doors, handles, grilles and hinges are free from a build-up of dirt, dust or grime h) There is no more than 2mm of dust build-up on vents.
Are the walls and floors in the cleaners room clean? Please inspect at least one cleaners room. Answer YES if: a) There is no a build-up of dust, grime or dirt on the floor b) There is no a build-up of dust, marks or grime on the walls c) More than 90% of the ceiling is free from splatters, grim, dust or marks d) More than 90% of the door surface is free from a build-up of dust, marks or grime and customer facing stainless steel plates are polished where installed.
Is the kitchen in the scullery clean? Please inspect the scullery if in operation. Answer YES if: a) Work surfaces are free of a build-up of crockery and cutlery b) A cleaning/sanitising program is in place c) Floors are free of a build-up of dirt, food scraps, oil and grime d) Waste bins are clean, not over flowing and have a bin liner e) There is no a build-up of dust, marks or grime on the walls f) 90% or more of the ceiling is free from smears, marks and grime.
Are the floors and ledges in the centre management office clean? Answer YES if the; a) Floors look like they have been vacuumed b) There is no build up of dust or grime on floors, skirting or ledges.
Are rubbish bins in the centre management office clean and empty? Answer YES if: rubbish bins; a) Are emptied in line with the agreed schedule AND b) Are free of a build up of dirt or grime.
Is the kitchenette in the centre management office clean and tidy? Answer YES if; a) Floors are swept and mopped in line with the agreed schedule b) Benches are wiped and appear sanitised in line with the agreed schedule c) Dishes are cleaned and stacked away in line with the agreed schedule.
Is the centre management office glass clean? Answer YES if: the glass is: a) Free from streaks, smears or marks b) Free from a visible build-up of dust or grime covering more than 10% of the fitting, door or glass c) Free from visible past cleaning attempts.
Is the furniture in the centre management office clean? Answer YES if: the furniture is: a) Free from a build up of dust or grime b) Free from marks and smears c) Polished to a high lustre when required.
Are plant rooms clean? Please inspect 2 plant rooms in the assessment zone. Answer Yes if: the plant room a) Has less than 2 pieces of litter b) Is free of boxes or bags of rubbish and debris c) If free of a build up of dirt, dust or grime.
