CONTRACT DOCUMENTS

  • Is there a site specific SWMS ?

  • Has the SWMS been reviewed using KCC (SWMS Review Checklist)?

  • Is there a record of toolbox meetings occurring?

  • Have Risk Assessments and Hazard Identification been conducted for relevant tasks?

  • If excavation/trenching works is involved has dial-before-you-dig been contacted to locate underground assets prior to the commencement of the task?

PERSONNEL SAFETY

  • Do staff undertaking Traffic Management Duties have current Licences or Certification to do so?

  • Provision of barriers to protect the public eg/ witches hats, safety tape, temp fencing, water barriers?

HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES AND DANGEROUS GOODS

  • Do all chemicals onsite have an SDS that is easily accessed?

  • Are chemicals correctly and clearly labelled?

  • Are the chemicals held in a container specifically designed to carry chemicals?

  • Are chemicals stored so as to prevent spillage?

  • All necessary items available for treatment of spillages

FIRST AID

  • Is there a First Aid kit easily available that is adequately stocked based on the types of injuries that are expected to occur?

  • Is there a staff member with First Aid Training on site or within easy access?

FIRE PROTECTION

  • Is the firefighting equipment capable of defeating the likely fire sources based on the working environment?

  • Is the firefighting equipment within its service date (Tested and Tagged)?

  • If required – Is firefighting equipment sufficiently charged for use?

PLANT & EQUIPMENT

  • Is the vehicle currently registered?

  • Is there a daily pre-start check conducted on the vehicle or equipment prior to use?

  • Do safety flashing lights or hazard lights work?

  • Is the equipment have Guards & other safety equipment fitted where required?

  • Is the operator aware of people, plant and equipment in vicinity
