Is there a written and approved site electrical procedure?
Has it been communicated to the employees ?
Has it been communicated to the contractors?
Has a competent electrician been appointed as the person, responsible for electrical works, in writing by the general manager?
Are all electricians qualified and tested to be competent?
Has all electrically energised equipment been locked out, tagged, de energised and tested to be de enerised prior to commencement of work?
Has an isolation and permit to work been obtained if work is to be done on electrically energised equipment?
Are switchboards kept closed, locked and not obstructed, from the back or front side?
Work near power lines is defined as no less than 9 meters horizontal distance when support poles are wooden and no less than 15 meters when support poles are metal.
Has a permit to work been obtained if the work is to be conducted near power lines?
Are, as a minimum, SA standards used for the purchase of electrical equipment and is there a purchasing specification that ensures this?
Do all portable and electricl tools have earth leakage switch and a safe start/stop switch?
Are portable electrical tools inspected (register) and tagged by an electrician on a monthly basis?
