Pre-Construction

General

  • 1. Is the site construction facility, materials handling and parking areas located in approved clear areas?

  • 2. Have all planning approvals and permits been obtained pertaining to environmental and heritage requirements for the project? (such as native vegetation offsets, wildlife permit, permit to disturb, CHMP)

  • 3. Is there a requirement to implement any flora or fauna specific targeted survey, translocation plan or conservation management plan for the works? (I.e GGF, GSM, SLL, Spiny Rice-flower, etc)

  • 4. Has a permit(s) from Council been obtained to remove/prune/lop any trees on site?

  • 5. Has a Weed Management Plan been specified for the works?

  • 6. Is a Tree Management Plan required for the works?

Pre-Commencement

Flora and Fauna

  • 7. Does the contractor have a copy of the Environmental Management Plan on site?

  • 8. Has the contractor undertaken environmental awareness training and/or site induction to toolbox flora and fauna issues?

  • 9. Has the contractor outlined specific measures to protect any sensitive flora and fauna habitat and/or vegetation outside of the Works area during construction, and are these areas identified in the construction plans? ( I.e location of exclusion or temporary fencing, para webbing, star pickets)

Cultural Heritage

  • 10. Does the contractor have a copy of the CHMP/Heritage Permit on site?

  • 11. Have all contractors undertaken indigenous cultural awareness training?

  • 12. Have all contractors involved in ground works signed in to the Cultural Heritage Register?

  • 13. Has the contractor confined all works within the Activity Area specified in the CHMP/Heritage Permit?

  • 14. Have exclusion zones protecting Aboriginal cultural heritage been identified as per the CHMP/Heritage Permit, and marked on construction plans?

Site EMP

  • 15. Does the Site EMP stipulate all required legislative permits and approvals specific to the works? ( I.e EPBC Act, FFG Act, Wildlife Act, Fisheries Act, Water Act, Environment Act, EPA approval, Melbourne Water permit, Council planning permit, Native vegetation offsets, Wildlife permit, Permit to disturb, CHMP)

  • 16. Does the Site EMP contain a Waste Hierarchy Management Plan which outlines management of all waste on the site?

  • 17. Does the Site EMP specify effective measures for site restoration and clean up?

  • 18. Does the Site EMP stipulate actions for weed management during construction?

  • 19. Does the Site EMP specify actions for tree management?

  • 20. Does the Site EMP specify measures to minimise construction impacts to sensitive areas? (such as waterways, native vegetation, nearby residents)

  • 21. Does the Site EMP include a risk assessment methodology that risk ranks specific environmental and heritage related aspects in relation to the construction project?

  • 22. Does the Site EMP specify protective measures to contain or minimise generation of dust and of our on site?

  • 23. Does the Site EMP specify storage and spill management practices to be implemented to prevent and/or minimise environmental damage resulting from chemical or fuel leakage?

  • 24. Does the Site EMP specify management practices to be implemented for wash-out of concrete of trucks?

  • 25. Does the Site EMP stipulate maintenance of MSDS records for all fuel and chemicals used on site?

Post-Construction

  • 26. Has the contract left silt fences in position to assist with re-instatement?

  • 27. Has the contractor completed the site re-instatement to allow for seeding, replanting and landscaping?

  • 28. Has the contractor adequately maintained all landscaped areas affected by construction works? Have landscaped and/or revegetated areas effectively re-established post construction?

  • 29. Has the contractor completed all follow up weed management requirements post construction?

  • 30. Has the topsoil been adequately leveled and graded out by the contractor to the satisfaction of the landowner?

  • 31. Is there evidence of erosion as a result of completion of construction works?

  • 32. Is the topsoil/finished surface free of debris and inorganic matter? (such as stones/rocks/glass etc)

  • 33. Where groundwater has been discharged to land, has the area distributed effectively re-established post construction?

  • 34. Is there evidence of any adverse impacts to trees as a result of construction?

  • 35. Have all stockpiles, excavated materials and quarry products been removed by the contractor post construction?

  • 36. Are drains in the vicinity of the worksite free of dirt, silt and debris?

  • 37. Has the supply, injection and discharge of chlorine and water sample testing work being carried out?

  • 38. Has the contractor arranged for the discharge of disinfecting water to sewerage system or storm water, to the satisfaction of CWW?
