  • Are staff fit for work? 3 members of staff to be randomly selected for hygiene audit.

    Free from illness
    No jewellery (including visible piercings) being worn other than a plain band wedding ring
    No false fingernails or false eyelashes being worn
    Make up worn kept to a minimum
    Fingernails short and clean with no nail polish or nail art
    No aftershave/perfume being worn
    No eating in production (including chewing gum)

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT

  • Are staff wearing appropriate Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment ?

    Are safety shoes being worn and in good condition
    Are hair nets being worn
    Are staff wearing beard snoods where appropriate
    Are knives in good condition and accounted for
    Is PPE (chain mail gloves, chain mail aprons and plastic aprons) clean and in good condition

  • Any other personal protective clothing and equipment issues

MACHINERY HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Is machinery in good condition and working order

  • CHECKLIST
    Are guards in place and operational
    Are electrical cables in good condition
    Machine working smoothly
    Any damage to machine
    All parts of machine in place and correctly set up

  • Is machinery clean

  • Any other machinery issues

WORKING AREA

  • Is working area clean

  • Is working area tidy and clear of obstructions

  • Any other working area issues
