Daily DCU Checks

Daily DCU AM Checks

  • The following daily operational checks MUST be carried out by a Demo One Site Supervisor before the beginning of the shift:

  • Inspection Time

  • Adequate supplies of water, gas and electricity

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Sufficient lighting to all areas and mirror in place

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Adequate shower pressure and temperature

  • Shower rosettes not blocked, system clear and water running at a constant temperature.

  • Shower holders are fit for purpose and allow for hands free decontamination and cleaning.

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Correct operation of heating system

  • Correct operation of air extraction NPU, including checks to the pressure gauge/warning device to ensure the HEPA filter has not become saturated

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Waste water filtration system working with clean filter and water disposed of correctly. Please note day and date of when the filter was last changed

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Functioning battery charger units and CO monitor

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Provision of sufficient waste bags in dirty end, shower gel, nail brushes and towels in clean end

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Cleanliness and correct signage of DCU

  • Take photo (optional)

  • The integrity of self closing doors and airlocks

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Confirm there are no environmental conditions that may affect the use of the DCU facilities e.g. frozen pipes, black ice on shower floor, stagnant standing water (legionella) etc.

  • Adequately earthed and testing of residual current devices (RCDs)

  • Visual check of electrical equipment for obvious defects e.g. damage, wear, overheating etc.

  • Take photo (optional)

  • Correct documentation on display and in date e.g. latest air test clearance, certificates for DOP test, electrical inspection and Gas Safe service

  • Sufficient lighting to all areas and mirror in place

  • Adequate shower pressure and temperature

  • Shower rosettes not blocked, system clear and water running at a constant temperature.

  • Shower holders are fit for purpose and allow for hands free decontamination and cleaning.

  • Correct operation of vacuum cleaner, supply of sponges and water baths/handheld sprayers in any transit airlock provided

  • The integrity of self closing doors and airlocks

  • Cleanliness and correct signage of DCU, transit route and airlocks

  • Confirm there are no environmental conditions that may affect the use of the DCU facilities e.g. frozen pipes, black ice on shower floor etc.

  • Adequately earthed and testing of residual current devices (RCDs)
