HOUSE INTERIOR

•All Rooms

  • Arrange for carpets to be commercially shampooed as per the terms of your agreement.<br>Evidence of this must be provided when you vacate.<br>Please check with your local DSSG Service Centre before hiring a Rug Doctor machine.

  • Windows and window sills and any fixed shelves – clean thoroughly.

  • Doors and doorframes – leave clean and undamaged.

  • All marks and mildew – ensure they are removed from walls.

  • Cobwebs – remove from ceilings, cornices and walls.

  • All light fittings and shades – clean and ensure they are free from insects.

  • All floors and skirting boards – sweep/vacuum/ wet mop/wipe.

  • Mirrors including wardrobe mirrors – ensure they are wiped clean.

  • Closet(s) – ensure they are wiped clean including doors and tracks.

  • Drapes/curtains – re-hook curtains on to tracks if missing or broken.

  • Blinds – clean thoroughly and ensure they are in working order.

  • All extractor fans throughout the property – clean.

  • Air vents – ensure they are free of dust.

  • Broken glass or mirrors – replace.

  • Light bulbs – ensure all are functioning and replace any missing bulbs with energy efficient bulbs.

  • Picture hooks – leave on walls.

  • Light switches and power points – wipe free of dirt and finger marks.

  • Any stickers or decals and sticky residue – remove.

  • Batteries in all smoke alarms – ensure all have functioning batteries.

  • Fireplace/Chippy – clean inside and outside, removing all ash, and cobwebs from chimney flue

•Kitchen

  • Clean the entire oven, including - griller, oven trays and racks, elements and surrounds, all knobs and dials.

  • Rangehood (including filters where applicable) – clean thoroughly.

  • All cupboards – clean inside and out (don’t forget the tops of the cupboards!).

  • Sink taps and waste disposal unit (if applicable) – clean and polish.

  • Walls, tiled areas and ceilings – ensure they are free from grease and mould.

  • All benches and floors – ensure they are clean and free from grease.

  • The dishwasher is to be left clean. Wipe over internal door and remove debris from drainer (if applicable).

  • All switches and power points – ensure they are free of grease and finger marks.

  • Pull out stove and clean behind it.

•Bathroom

  • Shower and/or bath – scrub and ensure they are free of all soap residue.

  • Grouting – ensure it is free of mildew and soap residue.

  • Shower curtain or door – scrub and ensure it is free of all soap residue.

  • All plugholes – clear them of any debris and ensure they have plugs.

  • Mirror – clean.

  • Vanity – scrub and ensure it is free of all soap residue.

  • Vanity cupboards and drawers – clean thoroughly.

  • Taps – polish.

  • Toilet/s – clean thoroughly (bowl, seat and cistern).

•Laundry

  • Tub – clean and remove debris from plughole.

  • Cupboard – clean thoroughly inside and out.

•Hallway

  • Man hole – ensure it is in correct position.

  • Linen closet (ensure it is cobweb free).

  • Coat cupboard (ensure it is cobweb free).

  • Power board – Turn off power (If the Defence house has a SMART meter do not turn off).

HOUSE EXTERIOR

  • Lawns – mow and trim edges within two days before vacating. Height of grass is not to exceed 2<br>cm – mow with catcher.<br>DO NOT dump grass clippings anywhere on property

  • Gardens – weed.

  • Hedges - trim ensuring not exceeding 2 metres in height.

  • No rubbish to be left in the gardens, around the property or under the house.

  • Remove compost heap and sandpits.

  • Bins to be emptied, washed out and left on property.

  • Deck – leave clean and tidy.

  • Driveways, carports, garages and concrete areas – ensure free from oil and grease stains.

  • Garage and sheds – sweep and remove cobwebs.

  • Remove vegetation blocking sub floor vents.

  • Remove any tenant built structures.

  • Repair lawn, garden damaged as a result of dogs.

  • Tidy woodshed.

  • Wash letterbox.

  • Ensure the clothesline is free of cobwebs.

  • Wash down house and windows, remove all cobwebs.

EXTERNAL AGENCIES

  • Advise utility providers – power, phone and gas companies of change of address.

  • Redirect mail.

  • Return all keys/remotes to DSSG at final inspection.

  • Inform the council of your change of address (dog registration).
