  • Is the waste cage set up to WGLL with locks to the front & rear of the cage, with a cage liner in the locked off base area?

  • Empty 4 sided cage with shelf down, padlocks & chain for both sides so that the doors & shelf cannot open signs for SM checked & SM to check sections of cage

  • Is there a milk dolly or cage set up with sections for waste to be recorded, damages to be fixed & EPW's?

  • Signs are required for each section of the cage & ideally needs to be placed in the chiller.

  • Is there a SEL list set up for all loose products in store is it near the waste area to allow easy recording of loose waste & is it being done regularly?

  • Select all loose products that are on your produce planograms & bakery planograms, this will ensure you are only scanning what is in your shop & have all options there for you.

  • Is the warehouse clear of adhoc waste & is it all in one designated location?

  • This location should be the pre sorted cages from earlier in this audit

  • Is there a single tray with a blue bag in it set up in the freezer for animal by product waste?

  • predominatly meat & eggs. Once the tray is full, wrap the bag & then send back with next delivery.

  • Is there evidence that waste is scanned twice daily & there is no build up of waste in the cage/milk dolly?

  • Damages are to be done throughout the day, suggest at 14.30/1500, then OOC to be done at end of day

  • Are the waste prints filed correctly in the set up folder with evidence of review by person doing waste & SM?

  • SM signature the following morning is essential, waste folder to have dividers for every day of the current week & 2 dividers for the 2 previous weeks.

  • Are food collection waste prints being filed with other waste prints with evidence of checking from the shift leader & SM?

  • these are to be filed in the waste folder with the other waste prints, but it needs to be clearly marked "food collection"

  • Are the correct waste bags being used?

  • Blue - (Animal by product), Pink - (bakery), Purple - (charity) & Brown - (food)

  • Are the keys for waste cage labbelled and stored in the key cabinet and only signed off by shift leaders?

  • Check that the keys are being signed in and out

  • Are the external bins locked? Is there only general waste in there?

  • General waste should be in the clear bags. There should be no food waste

  • Are TRC signed off for all shift leaders & colleagues on project scan it all?

  • TRC need to be signed & dated with the title as "Project scan it all"

  • Is the shift leader able to describe the activities<br><br>around project scan it all<br><br>

  • Has all waste been recorded?

  • Physically check the waste that is in the
    stores recorded section. Is it all recorded?
