2.0 - Fire Prevention

  • 2.1 - Fire extinguisher locations are designated by a sign?

  • 2.2 - Fire extinguishers are mounted in designated positions?

  • 2.3 - Fire extinguishers are tagged as serviced within the last year?

3.0 - Access/Egress Facilities

  • 3.1 - Exits and fire escapes are unobstructed?

  • 3.2 - Exit doors and fire escapes have illuminated exit signs?

  • 3.3 - Exit doors and panic hardware are in good working order?

  • 3.4 - Emergency Exit doors are kept unlocked?

  • 3.5 - Emergency lighting systems are checked regularly?

  • 3.6 - Evacuation plans are posted?

  • 3.7 - Staircases are well lit and free from obstructions

4.0 - General - H & S

  • 4.1 - Fire wardens and first aides posters are up to date

  • 4.2 - Employers liability insurance documentation is valid

  • 4.5 - Clear aisle spaces provided in all storage areas

  • 4.7 - Check zip taps are dispensing hot and cold water

  • 4.8 - Check fridge is fully operational

  • 4.9 - Check dishwashers are working correctly

  • 4.10 - Check there are no blockages in kitchenettes - free flowing water to waste

  • 4.11 - Check TV in Eaton Place - escalate to IT

5.0 - Cleaning

  • 5.2 - Check sensor taps in Ladies and Gents toilets

  • 5.3 - Ensure soap dispensers are fully operational

  • 5.4 - Check toilet brush holders are in good order

  • 5.5 - Check cubicle doors and locks are closing correctly

  • 5.6 - Check hand dryers are working correctly

  • 5.7 - Check air freshness are working and replenish as necessary

  • 5.8 - Check waste bin are working and not damaged

  • 5.9 - Check toilet seats are fully operational

  • 5.10 - Maintain constant supply of toilet rolls and tissues

  • 5.11 - Kick plates to be damped wiped and scuff free

  • 5.12 - Remove dirt from tracks in all lifts

  • 5.13 - Entrance mats lifted, beaten and thoroughly cleaned

  • 5.14 - Check female sanitary bins and re-distribute around building where necessary

  • 5.15 - Check carpeted areas are thoroughly vacuumed including edges and corners

7.0 - Electrical Safety

  • 7.1 - No double adapters in use?

  • 7.2 - Portable equipment tested and tagged?

  • 7.3 - No broken plugs, sockets or switches?

9.0 - First Aid Facilities

  • 9.1 - Are cabinets and contents clean and orderly?

  • 9.2 - Are contents regularly checked?

  • 9.4 - Cabinets clearly labelled?

  • 9.5 - Is there easy access to cabinets?

  • 9.6 - Employees aware of location of first aid cabinet?

  • 9.7 - Are first aid officers accessible?

  • 9.8 - Are emergency numbers displayed?

10.0 - Shower Room

  • 10.1 - Check paper towel dispensers are in good working order

  • 10.2 - Check there are adequate supplies of towels.

  • 10.3 - The cubicles and communal area is clutter free

  • 10.4 - Check tumble dryer is working correctly

  • 10.5 - Check shower doors are operating correctly

  • 10.6 - Sinks - plugs are in place and there are no blockages

  • 10.7 - Check waste bins are working and not damaged

11.0 - M & E

  • 11.1 - Fire alarm testing carried out on Wednesday

  • 11.2 - Check Comms Room temperature is 19-23 degrees

  • 11.3 - Building Management System - check for alarms and plant running

  • 11.4 - Inergen Gas system is switched to auto

  • 11.7 - Check for loose carpet tiles

  • 11.6 - Ceiling tiles and extract grills are clean and dust free

  • 11.8 - Scuff marks on walls and cupboards

  • 11.9 - Light deflectors free from dust and fingerprints
