Wind Speed

  • Are piers in compliance with the NCC Figure 3.3.1.6?<br><br>Note: If over 1500, piers must be increased to 350mm@base below 1500mm.

  • Has a plan been received from the supplier for any prefabricated beams/wall frame & is the construction in compliance with these plans?

  • Is wall bracing as per plan?

  • Is nailing patter correct for the bracing type - See AS1684

  • Have steel braces been installed correctly: min 1800L-2700L maximum?

  • Have racking forces been transferred around all bracing walls (including ply braces) in accordance with AS1684.2-1999, tables 8.22 & 8.24?

  • Are window openings over 900mm strapped at all 4 corners & tie-downs been installed either side through bottom plate to floor structure below?

  • If softwood, have double studs been installed either side of window openings?

  • Are any rafters/trusses hitting top plate & more than 52.5mm away from the studs? If so, have noggings been installed under top plates?<br><br>Note: Not required for double top plates.

  • Are rafters and sizes as per plan?

  • Is minimum clearance under all bearers 150mm minimum?

  • Have galvanised fixings been installed to treated pine members?

  • Is roof pitch 5 degrees minimum?

  • Does general layout check confirm likely compliance with the plans?

  • Are windows as per plan?<br><br>Note: Alterations may affect glazing calculations for thermal efficiency.
