NAP Project Area

Environmental Management.

  • Have area inspections been completed by area owner.

  • Have all actions from previous work area inspections been closed?

  • Does the work area adequately manage stormwater from entering potentially contaminated areas?

  • Does the work area retain potentially contaminated stormwater for treatment?

  • Is the workshop and hardstand area free of hydrocarbon or chemical spills?

  • Does the work area have sufficient stocked still kits?

  • Is there evidence of correct waste segregation?

Pivots

Crops

  • Are noxious weeds managed within the project area so that they are not impacting areas surrounding the pivot?

  • If crop species have been identified outside of the buffer area, have they been reported and managed appropriately?

  • Are crops scheduled for harvesting before seed is anticipated to mature?

  • Are chemicals and fertilisers approved through the chemical approval system?

Laydown/Hay storage yards

  • Is hay stored within designated laydown areas within the project area?

  • Have work area inspections been conducted within the laydown area to identify viable seed and germination?

  • Does the work area sufficiently manage stormwater within laydown locations?

  • Have weed surveys been conducted following rainfall events?

Transportation

  • Have weed inspections been scheduled along transportation routes?

Hydrocarbon and chemical storage

  • Are bulkies and chemicals stored appropriately in cabinets or on adequate bunds with jetting protection?

  • Does the area have bunding?

  • Is the bund in good condition with bund valve closed and locked?

  • Are bunds appropriately designed to Australian and Rio Tinto Standards?

  • Are bunds free of vegetation, rubbish or items which may reduce its capacity?

  • Is liquid resulting from spills or leaks recovered as soon as practicable?

Wash pads

  • Is fauna egress matting installed in ponds and in good condition?

Separator and ponds
