Pre-Departure Preparation

  • We're all cargo nets secured for departure

  • Did ramp crew and/or maintenance perform pre-departure walk around

  • Was passenger loading bridge stowed properly in designated parking location

  • Prior to departure, all FOD removed from OSZ

  • Before departure, all servicing equipment outside the OSZ

  • Two wing walkers used for pushback (as applicable)

  • Ground power cord properly stowed

  • Aircraft chocked and bypass pin installed prior to/during tow bar attachment ( bypass pin may not be installed unless tow bar and push tug are also attached - pin-tow bar -tractor)

  • Tow bar latching jaw secure (locking handle approximately parallel to tow bar)

  • Chocks not removed untitled serving complete ( except jet bridge) tractor connected

  • Tow bar less tractor connected as per procedures - by pass pin installed

Pushback

  • Wing walkers maintain a clear line of sight with pushback driver at all times

  • Wing walker utilizes correct hand signals for dispatch

  • Wing walkers utilize correct wands for the time of day and conditions ( lighted wand are to be used 30 minutes before sunset - 30 minutes after sunrise and when weather conditions restrict visibility)

  • Tractor and tow bar in line with aircraft at the completion of the pushback

  • Final Marshaller at 10-12 o'clock position terminal side or 12-2 o'clock position terminal side / gives and holds stop signal until all personnel and equipment are safely clear of aircraft movement area

  • Final Marshaller at 10-12 o'clock position terminal side or 12-2 o'clock position terminal side / give and maintain hold signal after personnel and equipment is clear

  • When flight deck indicated ready to taxi final Marshaller moves from hold signal to end marshaling hand signal (salute)
