Hazard Analysis

  • Before commencing any work a full and accurate Hazard Risk Analysis is to be completed in compliance with the HSE and companies guidelines.
    This can be completed either electronically though your MFT or manually on a paper replacement mandate form ( If you are using the paper copy then a digital capture of this document must be taken to verify the time this was completed ).
    Failure to comply with this legislation is a beach of company policy and the Health And Safety at work act 1974.

Working at Height

  • Working at Height is a requirement of our role - as such it is imperative that you have a full understanding of the Working at Height act of 2005 and what actions you are required to take to comply with this act.
    To comply with this act and the companies established Health and Safety policy you must do the following-
    Ensure that all required PPE are worn at all times
    Ensure that you use your full SSOW (Laddermate/microlite/anchor point) whenever using a ladder as an access point
    Ensure if you can not use a supplied eyebolt that a suitable alternative is located and utilised and the use of this is recorded
    The Ladder hierarchy is in place to ensure that if there is ever an element of your SSOW that can't be used it can be replaced or the correct escalation procedure is followed
    Please indicate below that you understand the Health and Safety procedure - in particularly the Working at Height policies

PPE

  • Use of PPE in the workplace is a key factor in keeping you safe whilst working.
    You need to ensure that ALL required elements of PPE are used when required:

    When drilling - Eye Protection, Dust Mask, Ear Protection, Manual Handling gloves
    When clipping - Eye Protection, Manual Handling Gloves
    When handling your ladders - Manual Handling Gloves, Hard Hat
    When handling any metallic object - Manual Handling Gloves
    When accessing an enclosed area ( loft / under floor ) - Manual Handling Gloves, Hard Hat, Head Torch ( if applicable) : you should also wear a dust mask if the area is poorly ventilated
    When ascending and descending a ladder - Manual Handling Gloves, Hard Hat, Fall Arrest Harness, Rope Grab
    When working static at height - Manual Handling Gloves, Hard Hat, Fall Arrest Harness, Rope Grab, Cows Tail.
    Steel Toecap toe protector boots are also to be worn at all times.

    The company provide you with all required PPE equipment and all equipment that is provided has been checked to ensue that it complies with all necessary criteria. As such you should not use any of your own equipment as we cannot verify that they comply to the required standards.
