    Your Precautions to be taken below are:

  • This permit must be signed by the responsible person on completion or suspension of Hot Works and maintained on the Permit to Work file
    1. Any work requiring the use of hot cutting, welding, grinding or any other process whose temperature of operation is likely to cause a fire hazard will require a Hot Work Permit.

    2. The Hot Work Permit is supplementary to the ‘Permit to Work’ procedures and applies to all persons carrying out Hot Works

    3. The Hot Work Permit must be cross referenced to the permit to work to which it relates and correctly completed.

    4. The precautions on the check list must be in place before the permit is authorized and the process of issuing, receipt, clearance and cancellation followed.

    5. A hot work permit cannot issue unless the ‘Responsible Person’ has visited and inspected the site.

    6. The area must be checked by the ‘Responsible Person’ one hour after the cessation of Hot Work.

  • Will you clear the area of combustible materials

  • Will you inspected adjacent areas (including above and below)

  • Will you block gaps or voids to prevent spread of spark or flame

  • Will you protect exposed wooden floors or skirtings to prevent ignition

  • Will you provide screens when welding cutting or grinding

  • Is a fire watch required

  • Any additional precautions (If none, state none)

  • Will you inspect your work areas one hour after work completed or suspended
