Health and Safety Information for Visitors/Observers

  • BSkyB take Health and Safety seriously. Therefore it is requested that ALL visitors to site adhere to the following Health and Safety - Safe Working Procedures that are to be observed when visiting HSS Field Operations personnel on site. This information is provided for your own safety and to try to reduce the risks of accidents.

Please observe the mandatory instructions below.

It is the responsibility of the HSS contact to ensure the equipment is provided and the form signed and returned to Line Manager.

MANDATORY

  • Hard Hat - MUST be worn whenever observing a person is onsite

Safety Footwear - As you are an observer you do not need safety shoes but we do insist on hard wearing shoes or boots.

Hi-Viz Vest - Must be worn at all times

At no time are you as an observer to assist the Engineer in any aspect of his work, as you are not trained to do so.

Whilst the Engineer is working you are not to distract him in anyway unless it is an emergency.

Always follow any instructions given to you either by the Engineer

Below are the Health and Safety Safe Working Procedures to be observed when visiting SHS personnel on site who do not exceed the frequency/time criteria above:

  • Always stand at least 3 metres from the installation site.

Beware of falling objects, do not stand underneath the engineer when he/she is working at height, and do not retrieve anything that the installer drops.

Always stand upwind of the installation to avoid dust in the eyes.

Ensure that you wear warm waterproof clothing and sturdy, well-soled, flat heeled waterproof footwear.

If you have any problems please discuss with either your site contact or your line manager.

I have read and understand the information above.
