Test Procedure

Confirm Project Information

  • Pipelines to be tested and their details

  • Testing specification requirements

Initial Work Area Inspection

  • Is test area barricaded off or sufficiently delineated?

  • Is traffic control established?

  • Has a Safe Work Method Statement been completed and all control measures followed?

  • Inform direct Supervisor to clear all personnel and pedestrians from pipeline under test and move to a safe distance

  • Environmental controls installed as and if required

Inspection Steps

  • Equipment checked and in good working order

  • Calculate volume of water to be added to pipeline

  • Use closest existing water hydrant and securely connect relevant standpipe

  • Connect pipeline and existing hydrant to water pump

  • Pressurise pipeline to test pressure as nominated by the relevant specification

  • Visually inspect pipeline for signs of leaking

  • Add water to pipeline at regular intervals to maintain test pressure and record results

  • Assess results against specification allowance and provide inspection result

Disassemble Steps

  • Depressurise and release disused water as directed by direct Supervisor onsite

  • Disconnect pipelines, remove barricading and return all items to test unit

Final Demobilisation

  • Notify client of result and to contact TestX office to arrange further testing or reports

  • Calibrated gauge numbers used

  • Inspector's remarks

  • Photo of work area and inspected pipeline

  • I declare that the inspection procedure was followed in accordance with the nominated Specifications

  • Inspection Completed

  • Report Issue Date
