FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The following were the findings and recommendations after the inspection:

  • This is a MV/LV NEW village.

  • All Customers within the scope have to be connected with cables and meters.

  • The site is yet to be energized.

A. OH LV LINE 240V or 415V

1. LV Survey:

  • Has the site been surveyed and pegged?

  • Has the site been checked against drawing?

  • Have all relevant acts, laws, standards and instructions been complied with?

2. LV Bush Clearing

  • Bush Clearing

3. LV Pole Installation & Condition:

  • Depth of pole holes. As per designed standard and Drawing Approval of TANESCO

  • Pole alignment. As per design Approval

  • Back filling of pole done Properly

  • Line Alignment, As per design Approval?

  • No Any Pole had been damaged?

  • No any Pole had cracks – split?

  • Has the Pole had a manufacturer name plate?

  • No Any Line Interference with HT?

  • Adherence to pole schedule?

4. Pole Dressing.

  • Pole caps on top of Pole (if wooden Pole )

  • Nuts C/W washers. As per Drawing Approval.

  • Size of Bolt as per standard and design?

5. LV Cable Stringing

  • Span Length As per TANESCO Ground Clearance and Approval Design.

  • Tensioning and sagging as standard?

  • Clearance Between Cable & Ground as per standard?

  • Ground clearance Ok?

  • Jumpers neat and done properly as per standard?

  • Cables suspension clamp on pole.

  • Cable stringing Ok?

  • Service cable accessories as per standard

  • Proper Tension/Strain Clamps Used in sections?

  • All Cable Terminals are properly Terminated and sealed with Cable Endcaps?

  • Are All Angled structures treated as per Standard and design?.

6. Stays (Normal, Flying, Outrigger, Guy)

  • Support Angle (at Pole) as per standard?

  • Distance of stay hole from pole as per standard?

  • Support point in relation to load on pole (Closest possible point to the Loaded Point)

  • Alignment between stay and pole Ok?

  • No Missing stays?.

  • No Loose stay?

  • No Loose hanging gay grips (teils)?

  • Stay Hole Depth ( Shoe Shape ) as per TANESCO Approved standard.

  • Size of stay wire & Rod/pole used as per standard?

  • Vertical Distance of stay insulator from Ground level >3 met?.

  • Stay make off ok?

  • All Stays are well dressed, buried and tail bound as per requirement?

7. Meter Connection

  • Meter Positioning ok?

  • Securing of Meter Ok?

  • Distance between Customer & pole. As per the TANESCO Standard?

  • Meter Gland for Service Cable for single or 3 phase connections?

  • ABC tension clamp for Service cable on both sides?

  • Service cable accessories as per TANESCO Standard?

  • Termination of Service cable at Customer point. As per TANESCO Standard?

B. OH MV LINE 33 KV

1. HT Survey

  • Has the site been surveyed and pegged?

  • Has the site been checked against Contract?

  • Have all relevant acts, laws, standards and instructions been complied with?

2. HT Bush Clearing

  • 5 met clearance on either side of Line for 33 KV as per TANESCO standard.

3. MV Pole Installation & Condition

  • Pole Depth properly done.

  • Standard poles installed as per design and standard Requirements?

  • Pole Alignment OK?

  • Line Alignment, As per design Approval?

  • Back filling done Properly, As per design Approval?

  • No Any Pole has been damaged?

  • No Any Pole had cracks – split?

4. MV Pole Dressing

  • Pole caps on top of Pole ( If Wooden Pole )

  • Nuts Complete with Washers, As per Approved Drawing.

  • Anti -Climbing device/barbed Wire installed?

  • Danger/Hatari Plate installed in proper position?

  • All Pole Number plates Installed and proper position?

  • Pole manufacture plate height Ok?

  • Span Length As per TANESCO Ground Clearance and Approval Design.

  • Adherence to pole Schedule

5. MV Conductor Stringing

  • Tension and Sagging. No Wave

  • No Conductor kinks ,loose slice or broken?

  • Mid-Span Joints quality (Neat Joint)

  • T-Off Connection (Neat U loop for 33 KV)?

  • Ground Clearance As per TANESCO Standard

  • Conductor Spacing As per TANESCO Standard

  • Jumper and Termination (Neat with PG Clamp)

  • Line Separation As per TANESCO Standard

  • Are All Angled structures treated as per Standard and design?.

6. MV Insulator Installation

  • Conductor Binding on Insulator & Insulator Clamps Tightened?.

  • Conductor Termination to dead end Clamps?.

  • Insulators properly installed?.

7. Stays (Normal, Flying, Outrigger, Guy)

  • Support Angle (at pole ) as per standard?

  • Distance of stay hole from pole as per standard?

  • Support point in relation to load on pole (Closest possible point to the Loaded Point)

  • Stay Hole Depth ( Shoe Shape ) as per TANESCO Approved standard.

  • Anti -Climbing Barbed wire ( 3 Meter from ground)

  • Size of Stay Wire and Rod/Pole used, As per TANESCO Standard

  • Vertical Distance of stay insulator from Ground level 3 met.

  • All Stays are well dressed, buried and tail bound as per requirement?

8. Continuous Aerial Earth

  • Every 5th Pole Grounded within 2 km from each side of Transformer.

  • Each terminal pole grounded.

  • Shield Wire properly installed.

  • Recommendations:

Three (3) phase TRANSFORMER 50KVA, (33/0.4/0.23 KV)

  • Transformer Manufacturer Serial Number:

1. Installation or Mounting

  • Transformer (TF) Mounting done Properly?

  • Transformer Anchorage. Tied and Welded

Transformer condition

  • No Damaged on Fins or Bushing During Transport.

  • No Damaged During Installation.

  • No leakages.

  • Transformer oil level as per standard.

  • All Arching Horns are well aligned?

2. Transformer Dressing

  • MV Loop (U-Loop)

  • MV Droppers (Neat With Pilot insulator)

  • Channels (Leveled and Firmly Fixed)

  • MV Fuses (Neat and as Per rating Designed)

  • LV Fuses (Neat and as Per rating Designed and with covers)

  • LV Wiring (Neat)

  • Ground Clearance, As per Approved Drawing.

  • S/S Numbering & Hatari as per Approved Drawing.

  • Surge Diverters installed &at the correct position, As per Approved Drawing.

  • Spark properly aligned.

  • Security light (water-resistant) with 50W bulb fitted.

3. Earthing

  • MV Earthing (≤ 10 Ohm)?

  • LV Earthing ( ≤ 2.5 Ohm)?

  • Surge Divertor Earthing ( ≤ 10 Ohm?)

  • MV, TF Earthing (All Separate Earthing)
