  • INSTRUCTIONS: Please check all appropriate finding - Mark items with a Pass or Fail (This audit form must be performed in the presence of the securement verifiers to ensure all polices and procedures are being followed)

Trailer/Container Securement Audit Form

1. Securement Procedures

  • 1.1 Inspectors walking same direction on opposite sides

  • 1.2 Inspectors are maintaining a minimum distance of (2) car/well lengths separation.

  • 1.3 All exceptions found are corrected prior to completing inspection.

  • 1.4 Inspectors following all other proper procedures for securement process (Mounting railcars as required, flashlight when required, etc.).

2. Trailer or Containers On Chassis

  • 2.1 All locking indicators or levers are in the locked or safe position.

  • 2.2 Trailer or chassis kingpin located in proper position in the hitch jaws.

  • 2.3 Any secondary locks, such as one-way gate or container to chassis twistlocks/pins, are operational and in the proper or locked position.

  • 2.4 Hitch diagonal strut is locked. Indicator pin shows hitch is locked in up position.

  • 2.5 Tire rub rails are secured to the railcar deck and are not loose or missing.

  • 2.6 Trailer tires are inflated and properly positioned (fully supported) on railcar deck.

  • 2.7 Proper clearance between landing legs and railcar (2” or more).

  • 2.8 Proper clearance between loaded trailers and/or containers on the same railcar, trailers and railcar, and no excessive overhang.

3. Containers

  • 3.1 All locking indicators, latches, hooks, handles, etc. are in the locked or safe position. Only right hand locking IBCs are used and they are properly installed (with cone up) and locked. IBC handles are not in contact with containers.

  • 3.2 All four corners are properly and firmly seated. <br><br>

  • 3.3 Container restraint, pedestal, or curb is in the proper position and working order.

  • 3.4 20’ Containers loaded properly. Not in restricted wells or prohibit railcars.

  • 3.5 IBC doublestack container width guides properly positioned for size of container. <br><br>

  • 3.6 IBCs properly stored when not used. IBCs are not in bottom container without a top.

  • 3.7 Proper clearance between loaded containers and railcar (not contacting partially collapsed hitch or rub rail).

4, All Units

  • 4.1 All debris has been removed from railcar deck or well. <br><br>

  • 4.2 Trailer or Container is structurally sound and properly positioned and balanced on the railcar, rear doors closed.

  • 4.3 Two (or more as required) signatures are on the track sheet with the proper stamp.
