Light Vehicle - Pre-Start Checklist
Category A Faults

Category A - Faults is a NO GO, the maintenance team must be informed immediately.

Are you fit to operate the vehicle?

Is the oil at full level?
-
Is the coolant at full level?

Is the brake fluid at full level?

Is the power steering fluid at full level?

Are there any leaks under the vehicle

Are there any leaks and loose items inside the engine compartment?

V-Belts belts damaged or worn?

Battery and clamps in good order?

Warning sign remaining on the cluster?

Park brake tested and in working order?
-
Service brake tested and in working order?
Category B Faults
-
Category B faults must be brought to the workshop immediately.

Are there any cracks/chips on the windscreen?

Are windshield wipers / washers working?

Are side or rear mirrors damaged or require adjustment?

Do headlights work?
-
Do left and right indicator lights work?

Are tyres damaged or worn?
-
Wheel nuts in order?

Wheel nut indicators in order?

Flag pole and flag in good condition and at the correct height (3.5 meters)

Are the seats in good working order?

Are the seats belts in good working order?

Does the horn work?

Does the reverse alarm work?

Does the flashing beacon light work?

Is there any exterior damage to the vehicle - panels, tray, bumper bar etc?
Category C Faults

Category C faults must be rectified by the end user.

Is the window washer at full level?

Valid Licenses & permits?

Is the fuel tank at full level?

Has the fire extinguisher been checked and service date is within requirements?

Is the wheel chocks in good working order?

Is the first aid kit stocked with items which are within use-by-date?
