  • The qualifications of an SWPPP Inspector as determined by Lee Lewis Construction are:

  • 1. Inspector must possess a working knowledge of EPA Federal Regulation (FRL-6119-7) for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) as well as Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) TPDES permits.

  • 2. Inspector must possess an understanding of the site specific SWPPP and be knowledgeable of what Best Management Practices (BMP) are to be implemented on the project to prevent pollutant discharges from the site.

  • 3. Inspector must possess working knowledge of any potential pollutants that are being used or stored within the project site, including chemicals, fuels, paints, and other construction materials. Inspector should also know where these materials are being used or stored on the site.

  • 4. Inspector must be able to perform a detailed inspection of the site and have the ability to verify the condition of existing BMP's, whether or not the BMP's are effective, and what additional or different BMP's are required for the SWPPP to maintain maximum effectiveness.

  • 5. Inspector must be able to effectively maintain records by accurately documenting all inspections. In addition, the inspector should be able to document any changes needed, or any changes made to the SWPPP.

  • 6. Inspector must know if any Endangered Species will be potentially impacted by construction activity.

  • 7. Inspector must know the name of receiving body of water for storm water runoff.
