Any new activity intended to be conducted in the workplace that involves manual handling activities that are likely to be a risk to health and safety, has a hazard identification and risk assessment complete before it's introduction?

The hazardous manual task worksheet is used to assist in the identification, assessment and recording of manual handling risks as part of our overall hazard management process?

A manual handling risk assessment is conducted (or reviewed) whenever a injury has occurred arising from a work process and/or practice involving manual handling?

If a manual handling task is assessed as being a risk to health and safety, the assessment team must take such steps as are reasonably practicable to control the risk using controls from the hierarchy of controls in descending order.

Employees have been provided with training to ensure:<br>- They understand and can apply the manual handing procedure and any relevant safe operating procedures in relation to the manual handling task they undertake, and<br>- can use and maintain the PPE if required.

Managers and supervisors have been provided with training to ensure they understand and can:<br>- apply the requirements of the manual handling legislation to the areas of manual handling activities under their control.<br>- provide adequate supervision to the employees under their control<br>- conform with the requirements of relevant procedures
