Mast Climbing Work Platform Weekly Check Sheet

  • Check that no part of the platform and its associated equipment has been tampered with since its last in operation. Pay particular attention after the weekend or holiday periods.

  • Carry out all checks under daily checklist.

  • Carry out an operational check on the MCWP - confirm platform stops promptly, level and without slipping when directional control is released.

  • Check the condition and connections of the chassis, decks, mast sections, drive unit and the platform modules for damage.

  • Check the motor brake for any visual signs of burning / wear and tear i.e.: carbon or burning residue around the motor covers.<br>

  • Check that the Safety Device is clean and free from debris, and is clear to operate

  • Check that the drive unit gearboxes and seals are free of oil leaks.

  • Check the condition of all bolt and tie bolt fixings, including any 'Goal Post' tie arrangements.

  • Drive platform to top of mast and check for any unusual noises, vibrations or behaviour.

  • Check each tie assembly’s condition and possible movement during travel

  • Check both rack and pinions are visually checked, work well and are well lubricated.

  • Is the equipment installed correctly and safe to operate?

  • Any defects must be reported to the BFT Contract Supervisor asap for rectification.
