  • E-stop functions

  • Labels are present, legible and all functions are easily identified

  • Pendant tether is attached at both ends and in good condition

  • Control cable is attached and no loose connections

  • Pendant slide moves freely for the full length


  • Look for and foreign objects that would interfere with crane motion

  • Any visible cracks, loose connections, other defects on structure

  • All bumpers present and in good condition

  • All limit flags present and in good condition

  • Any visible damage, or abnormalities on Electrical Bus

  • All guards in place and secure

Operation - Crane is ready to test, make sure fall zone is clear then switch power back on


  • All pendant controls function as labeled

  • All Traveling Brakes operate smoothly - no grabbing

  • Listen for any abnormal sounds

  • Check block and hook for free movement

  • Check all limits function as intended


  • Hoist hook – check for cracks, deformation

  • Safety latch on hoist hook

  • Swivel - check for smooth operation

  • Sheaves - deformation or damage

  • Wire rope - deformation or damage
