Structure

  • Look for and foreign objects that would interfere with crane motion

  • Any visible cracks, loose connections, other defects on structure

  • All bumpers present and in good condition<br>

  • All limit flags present and in good condition<br>

  • Any visible damage, or abnormalities on Electrical Bus

  • All guards in place and secure

Operation - Crane is ready to test, make sure fall zone is clear then switch power back on

Controls

  • All pendant controls function as labeled

  • All Traveling Brakes operate smoothly - no grabbing

  • Listen for any abnormal sounds<br>

  • Check block and hook for free movement <br>

  • Check all limits function as intended

Hook

  • Hoist hook – check for cracks, deformation

  • Safety latch on hoist hook

  • Swivel - check for smooth operation<br>

  • Sheaves - deformation or damage<br>

  • Wire rope - deformation or damage<br>

Checks complete

  • Is the Crane safe to use?

  • LOTO Crane with explanation of safety concern

  • Notify Supervisor

  • Enter Hazard into Synergy

  • Signature
