This Inspection is done Monthly by the designated In-house inspector to ensure everything is safe for operation.

  • Crane Identification

This Inspection is to be done prior to use at least once in a 24hr period.

Pendant

  • All buttons move freely

  • E-stop functions

  • Labels are present, legible and all functions are easily identified

  • Pendant tether is attached at both ends and in good condition<br>

  • Control cable is attached and no loose connections<br>

  • Pendant slide moves freely for the full length

Structure

  • Look for and foreign objects that would interfere with crane motion

  • Any visible cracks, loose connections, other defects on structure

  • All bumpers present and in good condition<br>

  • All limit flags present and in good condition<br>

  • Any visible damage, or abnormalities on Electrical Bus

  • All guards in place and secure

Operation - Before attaching a load, test all controls for proper operation

  • All pendant controls function as labeled

  • All Traveling Brakes operate smoothly - no grabbing

  • Listen for any abnormal sounds<br>

  • Check block and hook for free movement <br>

Hook

  • Hoist hook – check for cracks, deformation

  • Safety latch on hoist hook

  • Swivel - check for smooth operation<br>

  • Sheaves - deformation or damage<br>

  • Wire rope - deformation or damage<br>

Rigging

  • Expected Loads are within capacity of Crane<br>

  • Rigging Load Ratings clearly visible and rated for expected load and rigging method

  • Rigging in good condition

  • Lifting zone is free from obstacles and hazards

Checks complete

  • Is the crane safe to use?

  • LOTO Crane with explanation of safety concern

  • Notify Supervisor

  • Enter Hazard into Synergy

  • Signature
