Hand - Power tools

  • There is clear access to all electrical distribution boards

Fire and Emergency

  • Evacuation routes clear of obstruction

  • Fire doors are kept clear and in good working order

Working at height

  • Are ladders secured Padlocked and in a safe location (if not in use)

  • Is there any working at height being undertaken

  • Are all ladders inspections completed

  • Ladders are used correctly

  • Do ladders and hop ups look to be in good serviceable condition and used for the intended purpose

Lifting Equipment / Forklift

  • Daily checks carried out on the forklifts

  • Training / safe systems of work followed when forklifts are in operation

Machinery - Guarding - Safety

  • Are all dangerous parts guarded and the guards

  • Are all guards in use set to the correct heights

  • Are machine guards in a serviceable condition

  • Are light guards in use and functioning correctly

  • Emergency stops controls are accessible

  • Are emergency stops tested and functioning correctly

  • Have interlocks been fitted and is so are these functioning correctly

  • LOTO procedure in place and operators trained

  • Machines can be isolated

  • Only trained and competent individuals operating machinery, training records available to view

  • Are daily check sheets completed for each machine

  • Is there excess waste / dust outside the building
