CRITERIA

  • 1.0 This Part applies to all Water Sports operating in Seychelles of which they shall abide by the following:-

  • 1.1 Must have a canopy.

  • 1.2 Have the word “LIFE JACKETS” to indicate the storage position of LIFE JACKETS. They must be stored or placed to allow quick and easy access. Lifejackets must be either visible to passengers or their location clearly marked by an unobstructed and clearly visible sign saying LIFEJACKETS.

  • 1.3 Have the name of the boat written on all the Life Jackets.

  • 1.4 Have the following written on a conspicuous place on board the vessel : LICENSED TO CARRY ….. PERSONS WITHIN LIMITS OF….. MILES FROM INHABITED SHORES.

  • 1.5 Be physically attractive and well maintained.

  • 1.6 Cushions must be placed on all seats (not obligatory for dive boats).

  • 1.7 have onboard a first aid kit

  • 1.8 Have at least 1 litre of drinking water for each person onboard.

  • 1.9 Life jackets should be clean and in good condition.

2.0 VESSELS WITH LIVE ABOARD FACILITIES

  • 2.1 All the facilities and equipment must be clean, well maintained and in good working condition.

  • 2.2 Should have the capacity to be self sufficient for at least seven days at sea.

  • 2.3 Must have an appropriate relaxing area (lounge) where by a client can read, write and gather together; this area should be shaded from the natural elements (sun, sea spray and wind).

  • 2.4 Bathing facilities.

  • 2.5 Toilet facilities.

  • 2.6 Bedding.

  • 2.7 Bed sheets and towels.

  • 2.8 Cooker and cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.

  • 2.9 All vessels must have a holding tank

  • 3.0 In addition to REF I.0, hire crafts operating up to 60 miles from inhabited shores must have:-

  • 3.1 Toilet facilities.

  • 4.0 In addition to REF I.0 and REF 2.0, hire crafts operating over 60miles must have:-

  • 4.1 Live aboard facilities.
