CRITERIA

  • 1.0 The Tour Operator/ Travel Agent must be housed in an appropriate building and easily accessible to the public.

  • 1.1 The office must be clean and well maintained.

  • 1.2 All staff must ensure that they portray a professional and pleasant attitude when attending to their clients and staff should wear uniform which represents the business with name tags.

  • 1.3 The office must be easily identified by signs/sign boards.

  • 1.4 A reception area to receive guest with appropriate sitting facilities should be available.

  • 1.5 Should have clean and well maintained toilet facilities.

  • 1.6 The office should be equipped with telephone and e-mail services.

  • 1.7 Staff should have a good level of communication in both English and French. (The frontline staff should speak both English and French fluently as well as the relevant language for the targeted market. Additional language speaking and writing is an advantage).

  • 1.8 Any package offered by the Tour Operator/ Travel Agent should provide a clear description of product/services on offer, applicable prices at the date of booking (including applicable taxes), modes of payments and cancellation policies.

  • 1.9 All tour operators/travel agent should need to submit their Standard Operating Procedures for Multi- hazard preparedness for emergency response and evacuation for risk reduction- to the Risk Management Section of the Department of Tourism for vetting and approval.

  • 1.10 Should have a first aid kit at the office.

  • 2.0 The Tour operator/ Travel Agent must have in place a means to summon medical assistance when required.

  • 2.1 Adequate parking facilities should be available and in line with SLTA requirements

  • 2.2 All vehicles under the responsibility of the Tour Operator/ Travel Agent, which is being used to transport clients must be well maintained, in sound and clean conditions, with functioning air conditioning systems

  • 2.3 Vehicles should have the company's name and logo imprinted thereon.
