1.0 - Previous inspection

  • 1.1 - Was an inspection conducted last month?

2.0 - Minimum Requirements - All Persons (crew, visitors, managers, contractors)

  • 2.1 - Hard Hats - all have available and wear an approved hard hat? (hi-visibility yellow or orange, AS/NZS 1801)

  • 2.2 - Safety Boots - all have available and wear an approved safety boots? (good ankle support, steel capped, AS/NZS 2210)

  • 2.3 - Hi-Visibility Clothing - all have available and wear an approved hi-visibility vest/shirt/jacket/jumper on the outside of their clothing? (Hi-visibility yellow/orange, AS/NZS 4602)

  • 2.4 - Hearing Protection - all have available and wear an approved (if and when required) minimum Grade/Level 5 hearing protection ear buds/muffs? (no rips, tears, clean, AS/NZS 1270)

  • 2.5 PPE - all PPE is in good condition?

3.0 - Chainsaw Operator (QC, Tree Feller) - Further Requirements

  • 3.1 - Steel capped boots - gumboots spiked if tree faller or ankle boots laced up correctly, no rips/tears, steel capped, in good condition, to AS/NZS 2210 standard?

  • 3.2 - Hard Hat/Helmet with Visor (eye protection) - in good condition, no cracks, hard hat dated & within 2 year issue date?

  • 3.3 - Hi-Visibility Clothing - outer clothing, in good condition, not faded?

  • 3.4 - Chaps - all buckles work and do up, no rips/tears?

  • 3.5 Safety Mitt (on Chainsaw) and/or Gloves (if applicable) in good condition, no rips/tears?

4.0 - Breaker Out - Further Requirements

  • 4.1 - Hi-Visibility Clothing - Head Breaker Out must be in Orange hi-visibility and in good condition? Other breaker outs allowed to be in yellow hi visibility clothing.

  • 4.2 - Chaps - all buckles work and do up, no rips/tears?

  • 4.3 - Steel capped boots - gumboots spiked if tree faller or ankle boots laced up correctly, no rips/tears, steel capped, in good condition, to AS/NZS 2210 standard?

  • 4.4 - Hard Hat/Helmet with Visor (eye protection) - in good condition, no cracks, hard hat dated & within 2 year issue date?

5.0 - Quality Controller/Poleman/Logmaker - Further Requirements (other than minimum and chainsaw operator requirements)

  • 5.1 - Gloves - chemical grade pvc, elasticated cuff, clean and available as required?

  • 5.2 - Goggles/Eye Protection - for chemical protection, clean and readily available as required?

  • 5.3 - Mask - 1/2 mask, minimum dust/fume/mist P2 grade respiratory mask (due to working outdoors with excellent ventilation), clean and readily available as required?

6.0 - Wet Weather Clothing - for all relevant workers

  • 6.1 - Wet weather clothing suitable for task is available?

  • 6.2 - Wet weather clothing meets high visibility standards?
