Power tool checklist

  • Is the power tool in good working order?

  • Is the power tool clean and free from any grease, oil, debris, off cuts, or any other items that may cause the equipment or guards to not work properly?

  • Is the power tool being used for its intended purpose?

  • Is the power tool equipped with all necessary safety guards as supplied by manufacturer?

  • Are all grips/handles, triggers/switches intact and good working order?

  • Are any blades, bits, cutting/grinding tools or any other attachments associated with the equipment in good condition, undamaged and suitable fitment/adjustment/setting correct for proper use with the equipment use as intended by the manufacturer?

  • Are any adjustment/fitment tools associated with the equipment attached (or in the storage box) correct for intended use on the equipment?

  • When was the last maintenance check performed on the power tool?

  • Is the tool within its current PAT date?

  • Are all plugs, cables, cord grips and cable supports intact and working ok?

  • (where applicable) Are all rubber feet, legs and any other supports that keep the tool on a flat and level surface all intact?

  • Does this tool pass as an acceptable standard to be put into normal use?

  • Comments or issues to be addressed
