a. • Floor in good condition (no cracks, holes, no drains)
b. • Flooding from heavy rains, clogged external drains?
c. • Any roof leaks during rain?
d. • Dry and clean floors.
e. • Swept up spillages regularly to avoid wet floors
f. • Any smoking inside warehouse? (cigarette butts)
g. • Sufficient lighting
4. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a.• Any damage to electrical equipment?
b.• Socket/plug industrial type? Waterproof if outdoor?
c. • Equipment not close to fertilizer storage (min. 5m)
d. • Mobile equipment is protected by RCD 30mA.
e. • Fixed equipment has earth protection.
f. • Cables in good condition (no damages, no temporary repair with PVC insulation tape)
a. • Stacks covered with tarpaulins to avoid dust on bags
b. • Plastic layer on floor to protect bottom bags
c. • Distance between stacks/walls/pillars (min. 1m)
d. • Stacks straight, safe, easy to count for stocktake
e. • Bulk piles covered with tarpaulins to avoid humidity
f. • Doors closed to avoid humidity when not using

h. • Non-conforming fertilizers stored separately and labeled
I. • Incompatible materials (wood, plastics, fuel, oil, pesticides, acids) away from fertilizers (min. 5m)
j. • Are dangerous goods (class 5.1 oxidizer) stored separately from flammables and combustibles?
6. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
a. Fire water storage (min. 25 cubic meters) & hose reels or connected to municipal fire hydrant system
