Exterior

  • Are floors and carpets in good condition and free from trip hazards?

  • Are stairs in good condition without loose carpet or trip hazards?

  • Are handrails secure?

  • Are loft hatches secured?

  • Does the property have a lift? Has it been serviced and is the autodialer working?

  • Communal fire door check; must be kept closed, free from obstruction, displaying a fire door sign, able to close fully powered only by a door closer, include intumescent smoke seals around the door/surround and have no more than a 10mm gap around the door.

  • Is there sufficient lighting in communal areas?

  • Is the serving area clean and free from hazards?

  • Are electrical switches and sockets throughout in good condition and not overloaded with plugs?

  • Are fire extinguishers serviced and displaying appropriate signage?

  • Are emergency exits displaying appropriate signage, and are clear and free from obstructions?

  • Are smoke/heat detectors in good condition visibly?

  • Are electrical and riser cupboards kept secured?

  • Is the laundry area clean, maintained and free from hazards?

Compliance

  • Does the property have a fire log book and is it completed to date? (take photo)

  • Is the current public liability insurance certificate on display?
