  • Check all carriage travel and crane travel buttons.<br>● The trolley and crane run in the corresponding direction.<br>Press the emergency stop switch.<br>● The trolley and crane stop running.<br>● The brakes engage with an audible click, and trolley and crane brake immediately and come to stop.<br>● The functional test of the drive and the drive brakes is now completed.<br>Switch the crane back on using the pendant control.

  • Checking the main hook block limit switches<br>Test the following before beginning work:<br>Press the 'Lift' button halfway and move the load hook completely up with slow lifting speed.<br>● At the highest hook position, the load hook halts.<br>● The function of the top hoist limiter has now been tested

  • <br>Testing the braking/limit switch function:<br>─ Run the crane at high speed until it reaches the end of the crane track.<br>─ Run the carriage at high speed until it reaches the end of the bridge<br>● before the end, the crane/trolley brakes and continues running at low speed automatically until the limit switch brings it to a complete stop

  • Check the remote to be used is operating the crane to be used - Check Remote Control for damage / cracks / operation / Charge <br>Check the controls are not damaged (check for cracks, torn parts, or missing labels) - ensure the wiring loom is undamaged (wired pendants only)

  • Sectional reductional wear - Lower Hook to eye level <br>Check that there’s no more that 5 % wear on any part of the hook.<br>Check for bending or twisting and cracks.<br>Check the safety latch is in place and functioning properly.<br>Ensure that the hook nut is tight and locked to hook.<br>Make sure that the hook rotates freely without grinding <br>Check the hook swivels freely

  • Wire Rope & Load Chain:<br>Check wire rope and load chain by walking 360 degrees around the hook block and examining wire rope/chain.<br>Check that there’s no reduction in diameter.<br>Check that there are no broken wires (bird caging)<br>Make sure there’s no kinking, cutting, crushing, un-stranding, or thermal damage to the wire rope.<br>Check that there are no cracks, gouges, nicks, corrosion, or distortion on any link of the load chain.<br>Ensure that there’s no wear at contact points.<br>Verify chain sprockets / Pulleys are operating smoothly. <br>Check that the wire rope is reeved and seated in the drum grooves properly.
