Introduction.

Hello and welcome to the new age of data collection and management.

  • Hardware is becoming less expensive, software is becoming more user friendly and humans are getting smarter. We have the technology now to become paper free, but we still cling onto the need to read, fill in, file and store bits of paper. What lies ahead is my pitch to move ACES towards a digital future.........it is inevitable really, I just hope to speed things up a bit.

  • So, here we have the core function of the program. Ask a question, get an answer. You can frame both the questions and answers when designing templates. A template is what you are using right now. An Audit is a completed template. I'll start with this.........<br>Is the person next to you wearing clothes today?

  • Well, you didn't fail......quite the opposite. Congratulations for being inquisitive, honest, and stepping outside the box.

  • Did you put some text on the box and take a photo of the closest person to you as evidence for your answer?

  • Clever you! Progress to the next section.

  • Did you put some text on the box and take a photo of the closest person to you as evidence for your answer?

  • Please take a photo of that person, we will use it in another section. To take a photo please press the media button, then the plus button and choose camera. If you don't like the photo, press the plus again and take another. If you want to delete a photo hit edit, then tick the photo you don't want and hit delete. You can have as many photos as you like.

Linking knowledge

Going outside the box, we can instruct people to look at or gather information to drop into our completed audit.

  • Ok, that shows how we can go to any website. It also shows that we would need to create another website to park our forms that doesn't require a password other than entry via the iAuditor program. Now, let's see then how we add files, charts and graphs to our Audit.........please, check the box.

  • Or you could flick the switch.

  • Some people are pretty stupid and might need to find answers here.........

4xW+H=Y

Who, what, where,when,how = why.

  • To find out WHO did the report, and who was present during the report is easy.

  • Signature

  • A picture is worth a thousand words, take a picture of WHAT? (Anything)

  • Lets use the picture(s) you took previously. Hit the plus button and go into your library and take a photo from your camera roll. Once chosen, tap on the photo, then hit annotate and get artistic!

  • Knowing WHERE you are is as easy as pressing a button (or two).

  • Hit locate, then locate me. To get more precise zoom in by pinching then spreading your fingers apart.......sometimes it needs a little help to get an accurate location.
  • WHEN you you need to know if the time is NOW, or a time and date in the future needs to be set just let your fingers do the talking.

  • Done

  • Dusted.

  • Done and dusted!

  • HOW do you get the right answers?

  • By asking the right questions!

Choose the right answer

Data is not "right" or "wrong", choose what you like.

  • Is it a safe bet that there would be an instance where you require more data for a question?

  • Regardless of what you chose the outcome was the same ( try it )......I guess that's why they call this function of design in the template a "smart field" as it can allow you to steer someone toward a path no matter what they press. However, when "at risk, no, or simply the middle box( or end if there is only two) is chosen a drop down box always appears to prompt a response to give a reason for that answer.

  • How did you feel when you woke up this morning?

  • On a scale of 1-10 ( with 1 being yuk and 1 being yay!). How much do you enjoy doing reports and paperwork?

  • How much do you enjoy using computers ( using the same yuk, yay! Scale)

  • Do you consider that using this technology might make it slightly more interesting than paper?

  • Has this demonstration been useful in getting you to see the advantages of using this technology to gather data?

  • Please think of a situation, or form you might use where iAuditor would be usefull.

  • Situation.

Finish on a high

Last but not least.

  • By checking the address, we know where the audit was completed.

  • Add location
  • By checking the date/time we will know when it was finished.

  • And of course we can sign off and we are done!

  • Not quite done, please add comments as to how this software might be improved or what you found hard to understand.

  • thank-you-road-sign
