Preparation

  • Is the Ramp team on Stand before arrival?

  • Is every member of the team wearing the required and appropriate PPE?

  • Has the TeamLeader briefed his/her team?

  • Has a FOD inspection been completed?

  • Are sufficient chocks and cones for aircraft type, available on stand?

  • Is the equipment for the flight parked clear of any collision risk? (engine off, park brake on / chocked?)

  • Is the GPU correct positioned and chocked or FEGP (if used) checked and ready to use?

  • Are all staff safely positioned away from a/c hazards?

Arrival

  • How is the a/c marshalled on to stand?

  • Does the Marshaller use the correct signals? or is the APIS manned?

  • Are the aircraft engines spooled down and the anti-collision beacons off before anyone approaches the aircraft

  • Is the aircraft chocked correctly?

  • Is the aircraft coned correctl

  • Are the cones in use suitable and in good repair with reflective bands in place?

  • Was the aircraft chocked and coned before anyone else or an equipment approached the aircraft?

  • Did the TeamLeader conduct a full and proper arrival inspection of the aircraft?

  • Did all agents operating equipment check the area around the fuselage for damage, before positioning the equipement?

  • Were Banksman used when positioning equipment onto the aircraft?

  • Did all equipment approach the at an appropriate speed and carry out a brake test?

  • Does the aircraft use external stairs?

  • Are passenger steps correctly positioned and with stabilisers deployed, and brakes set?

  • Are pawl locks on passenger steps in the fully extended locked position and hydraulics depressurised to allow the full weight of the steps to rest on the locks?

  • Were the correct cabin door opening procedures followed?

  • If required is a PIG used and correctly positioned before passenger disembarkation?

  • Are passengers, when on the ramp, guided and supervised correctly by airside agents?

Servicing Equipment?

  • Does all powered equipment, and steps, have defect reporting cards fitted?

  • Is all equipment in good repair and appear to be safe to use?

  • Is all equipment free from FOD (including inside vehicles)?

  • Is all equipment chocked and/ or stabilisers deployed hen required?

  • Are all baggage trailers and cargo dollies positioned more than 6ft (2m) from the aircraft?

  • Are flatbeds / belt loaders correctly positioned and chocked as nessecary?

  • Do flatbeds / belt loaders that are fitted with safety rail, have them in place when in use?

  • Are lift platforms (HI-LO) positioned and operated correctly?

  • Is the Ambu-lift positioned and operated correctly?

  • Is the TSU and WSU positioned and operated correctly?

  • Are all unattended vehicles turned off when left unattended?

  • Does all non-motorised equipment that is not connected to a vehicle have the parking brake applied?

  • Is all non-motorised towable equipment being used serviceable? (Note RED cable ties)

  • Do operators avoid driving under wings, tail and fuselage?

  • Was all ramp vehicles driven at appropriate speeds?

  • Were all vehicles seen being driven with the doors closed?

  • Was any equipment not designed to do so, seen carrying passengers?

  • Did all staff avoid stepping between trailers and dollies when hooked up to a vehicle and avoid stepping over towbars?

  • Was a clear exit route maintained for the refuelling vehicle at all times?

Unloading and Loading

  • Does the TL have the offload instructions?

  • Is the inbound load restrained correctly (all nets / locks up and nothing unsecured in the hold?)

  • Does the inbound load message match the actual loading?

  • Does the inbound loadsheet match the LDM and actual loading?

  • Have all holds been checked, including those reported as being empty?

  • Does the TL have a copy of the LIR before loading?

  • Have any changes to the LIR been notified to the TL?

  • Has any the baggage and cargo been checked against the LIR and cargo manifest, and is it fit to travel before loading?

  • Has the aircraft been loaded in accordance with the LIR?

  • Are appropriate manual handling techniques used by all staff?

  • Is bulk baggage and cargo secured properly?

  • Are all ULDs locked and secured?

  • Are all ULDs within damage limits and ok to use?

  • Were any deviations to the planned loading noted on the LIR, and were they authorized?

  • If required has the NOTOC been signed and presented to the Captain?

  • Has the LIR been annotated with the final loading and signed correctly by the TL?

  • Have the bingo cards been annotated and checked by the Bag hall staff?

  • If rush bags are being carried, has the rush bag manifest been checked against the rush bags?

  • Has there been regular communication between Dispatcher and Ramp Team throughout the turnaround?

  • Has the Dispatcher carried out the loadsheet checks prior to giving the loadsheet to the Flight Deck crew?

  • Has the Dispatcher signed the loadsheet to confirm checks have been done?

  • Was the MDF (Manifest Declaration Form) completed and all in order prior to the aircraft doors being closed?

  • Have the Bingo cards been signed by the Dispatcher prior to departure?

Departure

  • Is all equipment removed from the aircraft correctly using a banksman where/when required?

  • Were the correct cabin doors closure procedures used?

  • Was the steering by-pass pin inserted before connection of the towbar to the aircraft?

  • Is the tractor/Towbar in position and correctly connected?

  • Is an aircraft pre-departure check carried out carried out correctly and after all equipment has been removed?

  • Was all equipment (except pushback tug) removed from the aircraft before the cones were removed?

  • Are all chocks, cones and PIGs removed prior to pushback and stored in the correct location?

  • If required, is the airstart positioned correctly?

  • Is the pushback tug and towbar disconnected correctly?

  • Was a chock placed just forward of the nose wheel before disconnection of the towbar?

  • Was the tractor and towbar completely clear of the a/c before the "clear to taxi" signal was given to the flight crew?

  • Were all headset and hand signals used correctly?

  • Is all servicing equipment returned to the allocated parking areas and is it parked correctly?

Third Party Acitivity

  • Is any third party activity observed on the ramp free from unsafe practice?

  • Was the turnaround unimpeded by any Third party activity?
