  • This pre start is to be completed prior to each days usage. If any items are found to be damaged than equipment is to be tagged out and reported to the manager.no. Bang

Pre Start Checklist

  • Wheels/Tyres - Are tyres and rims in good condition?

  • Fluids - Are hydraulic levels adequate?

  • Fluids - Are there any leaks coming from the forklift?

  • Structure - Is there any cracks, dents or visible damage of any sort?

  • Carriage plate/Forks - Is there any visible damage? ( Forks bent, thinning, lock clips broken/not working, carriage plate straight and lightly greased )

  • Mast - Is there any visible sign of damage to chains, rams? Are there any leaks coming from hydraulic hoses/rams? Do slides need to be greased?

  • Battery - Is there any visible sign of damage?

  • Engine/battery bay - is the bay clean and is the locking mechanism working correctly to secure battery and door?

  • Battery Water has been Topped Up?

  • Load capacity plate - Is load capacity plate fitted and legible? Are you aware of the safe working load of the forklift?

  • Guards - Is there any damage to overhead guard/role cage, and back rest extension?

  • Controls - check seat condition. Are controls clearly marked. Ensure seat and steering wheel are in good condition and properly adjusted. Seat belt works correctly

Post Start Checklist

  • Controls - are controls, pedals and display working correctly?

  • Are the reverse buzzer and horn working correctly?

  • Are the lights and flashing beacon working correctly?

  • Steering - does the steering wheel turn smoothly from lock to lock?

  • Brakes - do both the park brake and foot brake work correctly, in both gentle action and emergency procedures?

  • Hydraulics - All hydraulic controls work properly, to their for their full extent and can be used in a controlled manner?
