GENERAL

  • Builder's sign on site & visible

  • Site safety management plan check

  • Check Selections for Brick, Mortar Colour, Ironing/Pointing Type

  • Window Sill: Brick Length to be approximately 180mm or 3/4 lenght

  • If less than 1km from the coast line, the mortar mix shall be 1 part cement, 3 parts sand

  • 6 sand, 1 cement, 1/2 lime mortar mix (for grey or brighton lite mortar only)

  • Viscourse to protrude 10mm from face of wall

  • Porch areas to have 110mm viscourse on top of first course bricks

  • Brick piers on strip footings to have 2 layers of 110mm viscourse - one at same level as house

  • 110mm/300mm viscourse around all window and door openings

  • Wall ties must be on both sides of control joints every 3 courses

  • Wall ties to the second to last course of brick wall

  • Face fix ties to be used where there are brace sheets

  • Wall ties to be a maximum 600mm vertically & horizontally

  • Wall ties to openings must be at a maximum of 300mm spacing vertically

  • Wall ties to be on both sides of the control joints and a maximum of 300mm apart vertically

  • If less than 1km from the coast line, stainless steel wall ties & roller joints must be used

  • Ensure that brick courses finish at a minimum of 2 course above bottom of eave and soffit lining

  • Ends of brick sills to be mortared

  • All control joints as per Engineers plans

  • All brickwork is to be thoroughly cleaned. Pressure clean acid wash if required (before eaves install)

  • All control joints require control joint foam to be installed by bricklayer

  • Brickwork to be set back 30mm for stone veneers

  • Ensure brickwork to external doors is well inside quad cover

  • Walls are to be plumb & level. Piers are to be square & line up with other piers

  • Where there are rendered bands or walls there is to be 10mm gap from the window, door sill & reveal

  • All weep holes must be neat and free of mortar

  • If in a Bushfire Zone, all required provisions included

CLEANING

  • All rubbish to be placed in one pile at front of site or in bin

  • If clear access for bobcat is available, 2nd pile can be placed at rear

  • Ensure bottom mortar bed is tidy & consistent

  • All mortar in cavity is to be cleaned out & placed in rubbish pile

  • All mortar on slab to be cleaned off & then swept clean

  • All windows/glass to have mortar washed off while still fresh

  • All neighbouring fencing/property to have mortar washed off while still fresh

  • All empty pallets to be neatly stacked at front of site

  • All leftover (unused & undamaged) bricks to be stacked onto one pallet at front of site

  • No wash up, water slurry etc. is allowed to flow on to the road/drains

  • Toilet is clean & tidy

  • Bin on site
