  • Sort (Seiri): Are all unnecessary materials, outdated packages, and excess packaging removed from the receiving and shipping areas to ensure only essential items are present?

  • Set in Order (Seiton): Are small packages, tools, and shipping materials properly organized, clearly labeled, and stored in designated areas for easy access and smooth workflow?

  • Shine (Seiso): Is the receiving and shipping area kept clean, with no debris, packaging waste, or spills on floors, shelves, or countertops?

  • Standardize (Seiketsu): Are standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and visual aids in place to ensure consistent processes for receiving, inspecting, and shipping packages, as well as for maintaining cleanliness?

  • Sustain (Shitsuke): Are all team members consistently adhering to 5S principles, and are there regular checks or audits to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement?

  • Safety (Safety +2): Are there any safety hazards in the receiving or shipping areas, such as blocked aisles, unbalanced packages, or improperly stored heavy items, that could cause accidents?

  • Environmental (Safety +2): Are environmentally responsible practices followed, such as recycling packaging materials, reducing waste, and using energy-efficient equipment in the receiving and shipping areas?

  • Inventory Control (Safety +2): Are incoming and outgoing small packages properly tracked and documented to ensure accurate inventory control, and are all items stored in their designated locations?

  • Equipment Maintenance (Safety +2): Are the handling equipment, such as forklifts, conveyors, or pallet jacks, properly maintained and inspected regularly to ensure they are in safe working condition?

  • Packaging & Labeling (Safety +2): Are all outgoing packages properly labeled, securely packaged, and in good condition, with no incorrect or missing information that could cause shipping delays or errors?
