SLT - Safety Walk in Depots

Is there a SHEQ board in place?

Is the board up to date?

Does the board have the correct documents present?

Does the depot have access to all Risk Assessments?

Are chop saws fitted with the suitable extraction?

Is there an emergency fire process in place?

Is there a designated Fire Marshall appointed and/or responsible persons for the premises?

IS there visible signage for awareness in depot?

Is there a Fire alarm system in place?

Is there a list of Emergency contacts?

Are the fire doors in good working condition and free from obstruction?

Do the fire exits have visible exit signage and are they illuminated?

Is there appropriate fire fighting equipment available?

Is there appropriate fire safety signage throughout the depot?

Does the depot have a First Aider?

Is it clear and visible who the first aider is?

Is all stock stored safely and correctly (Risk free or minimal risk)?

Is the racking free from damage?

Is the racking fixed to the floor and or walls?

Is the racking fixed together correctly?

Is common sense applied to the storage on racking (size/weight - locations)

Is all product stored in a safe manner?

Are managers frequently inspecting the H&S in their depots?

Can managers demonstrate they are actively using the near miss process for raising EHS risks?

Are knives and sharps stored correctly?

Are all COSHH items stored correctly?

Is the workspace including external areas well lit with adequate lighting?

Are the roller shutter doors in good working condition?

Is there temperature management in place (heating etc)?

Are there provisions in place for eating and drinking facilities?

Does the depot have sufficient PPE/RPE stock?

Is PPE/RPE stock stored correctly?

Are the FLT's in good working condition?

Are compressed gas cylinders stored in lockable cages and signed up correctly?

Is Asbestos clearly managed in the depot?

Are there provisions for waste management?

Is waste segregated and managed?

Are the welfare facilities in good & clean condition?
