Does the Operator Hold a current and valid State/Territory Driver’s License ; Hold a current and valid Authority to Drive Airside(ADA) and have completed training to operate the Ambu-Lift, and been deemed competent in its use by an authorized trainer?

Before using the Ambu-Lift, the Operator ensures that the unit is serviceable and safe for use, and the EWP Operators Log is filled in prior to operating

The Ambu-Lift whilst transporting Pax is operated by two (2) persons, a Driver and a Marshaller. The Marshaller apart from Marshalling aslo operate the rear load for loading and unloading of passengers from the unit

Personnel ensures all persons are clear from the access Ramp area when it is raised or lowered

Personnel remain fully within the confines of the rear loader during operation to prevent shearing or Crushing of Limbs

When moving Pax in Wheelchairs into the rear Loader, the Customer Service Agent pushes the wheelchair into the Rear Loader, in the forward facing position and apply the brakes

Before operating the controls on the rear loader, check is done to ensure that the Pax is holding the “Passenger Hold Handlers” thus minimizing the risk of an accident;

When aligning the Ambu-Lift front platform with the aircraft doorsill, attention is paid to ensure that the platform is parallel with the aircraft doorsill. This ensures that the front platform can be extended to the aircraft without risk of one side of it making contact with the aircraft.

The Ambu-Lift is positioned in such a way that the aircraft door can be opened without contacting the side rails of the front platform.

When the door is slid to the open position the driver retracts the guard rail to allow the aircraft door to slide past without making contact

To avoid the risk of damaging the Aircraft Door, all height adjustments of the Ambulift is done while the aircraft door is still closed, and with the front extendable platform retracted;

There is a minimum of 50mm between the Ambulift and Aircraft;

Carbridge Employees does not assist in the movement of any Wheelchair or Pax Handling

Under no circumstances any Ambulift controls are operated by anyone other than the Marshaller or the Driver

The Ambu-Lift Operator directs his/her full attention to the final positioning of the Ambu-Lift at the aircraft. Communication between the customer service agent and the Ambu-Lift Operator is kept to a minimum at this stage.

The Ambu-Lift Operator supervises all Passengers within the Ambulift main platform while the Customer Agent is in the Aircraft Cabin;

Once all disembarking passengers have successfully been transferred into the Ambu-Lift main platform, the Ambu-Lift Operator follows the steps below to ensure that the Ambu-Lift is safely removed from the aircraft: Remove the wheelchair ramp from the forward platform, and re-stow within the Ambu-Lift main platform cabin; CSA will close the aircraft cabin door (Carbridge employees are not to assist with this);Close the forward platform gate; Retract forward platform side-rails, and then the forward platform and engage the drop pin locks; Lower the Ambu-Lift main platform and Retract the stabilisers, and move away from the aircraft under marshaller guidance.
