  • If an aircraft door is being opened from the inside by Prospect employees, have correct Monitor and Challenge protocols been followed?

Vehicle, Driver, and Passenger Safety

  • Are vehicles parked outside of the diamond of safety?

  • When required, has the vehicle engine been turned off?

  • When required (i.e. when the motor is running), is the E-brake engaged?

  • Where required, is the guide person visible to the driver and in proper position?

  • When parked, is the gear in "N" or "P" and the brake engaged, and when mandatory, chocks in use and properly placed? ('rubber to rubber" contact)

  • Does the driver wait 10 seconds before exiting the vehicle after the vehicle has come to a complete stop?

  • Are the driver and any passengers wearing seatbelts while the vehicle is being operated? (not required within the diamond safety zone or when backing up to service an aircraft)

  • Have all unsafe obstacles been identified and removed? (i.e. dirty or obstructed window, large debris on the floor, fuel and oil level checked, no leaks, excessively worn out tires, chocks availability verified, severely damaged seats, etc.)

  • Does the station retain vehicle maintenance records for the duration of the vehicle's life?

  • Does the station use POI's for each individual vehicle at the beginning of each shift?

  • Is the ERP program up-to-date and in compliance?

  • Does the ERP program address all work groups and locations?

  • Is the SDS list up-to-date? (all documents must be SDS's, not MSDS's)

  • Is the fire extinguisher serviceable? (valid for 1 year from the last inspection date on the inspection log)

  • Has the fire extinguisher been inspected on monthly basis? (check dates on the inspection log)

  • Are all emergency exits and exit routes unobstructed?

  • Are all emergency exits and non-exits properly marked?

  • Is the station refraining from "daisy chaining" cords when connecting appliances? (per 29 CFR ยง1910.304 and 305)
