Is regulated medical waste distinctly separated from normal waste?

Are all containers properly labeled?

Is appropriate PPE available?

Fire/Life Safety

Are fire extinguishers free from obstruction?

Have fire extinguishers been checked at least monthly?

Are fire and smoke doors free from obstruction?

Are all exit signs illuminated?

Are corridors and stairwells unobstructed?

Are compressed gas cylinders stored properly?

Is there adequate clearance to sprinklers/ceilings?

Medical Equipment

Has medical equipment (new and used) been ID tagged and safety checked?

Is all defective equipment properly tagged?

Are call bells unobstructed and within reach?

Utility Systems

Are medical gas valves unobstructed and properly labeled?

Are all electrical receptacles and switches in good repair?

Is electrical equipment in proper working condition?

Are working flash lights available?

Employee Knowledge

Explain the immediate response to fire (RACE).

Demonstrate where to find a MSDS (online, dolphin).

Describe what the red outlets are for and when to use them.

Describe what a code pink event is.
